Here's one for the ages ppl, I'm so p1ssed aldo got injured, that was a once in a lifetime price when he became the underdog. hoping odds get a bit better on mendes then i'll pull the trigger. I think rory will win but not loving his price, I like tim means as an underdog fora small bet, I think browns name has inflated means price a bit too much. not decided on the rest yet. who's everyone on? (if there's anyone left here D= )

I dont know enough about UFC but how can the ref stop that fight with 10 seconds left in a round and the guy was covered up??
|
|
By:
^^^^ You have to be appearing at least to be able to defend yourself or the Ref stops it,same in any combat sport. He looked cooked.

what a crazy night of fights though, that was one of the best cards ever tbh! the rory/lawler fight was amazing, so was the brown/means fight AND the stephens/bermudez. aldo vs mcgregor is gonna be insane!
|
|
By:
would of liked to see how the fight turned out if mendes had a full training camp though.

" would of liked to see how the fight turned out if mendes had a full training camp though. " would of been the same result, mgregor is to big foe mendes. to much power and he will do the same with aldo. they cant take his power

I was impressed with Gunnar Nelson.... it was a big fight for him after the hype and then the loss to Rick Story. To send Thatch down with some decent stand up was top drawer and puts him back on the ladder climb. His interview on the after fight press conference left a lot to be desired though !!
Great card... I set the alarm for 4:30am and woke up to watch the Lawler fight and then Connor... was well worth the early alarm call. |

By:
yea it was a great card.gunner is a very skilled bjj black belt so as soon as it wnet to the floor there was a good chance it was over . I haven't bet on any ufc but I am going to start

Opinions on Bisping at the weekend ? I'll give him his dues, he can still sell a fight and talks the talk afterwards but these fights are his limit nowadays. Whilst I would like to see nothing more than Bisping in a title fight, we all know deep down that when he faces the top 5 fighters that he has no chance. To say that the UFC should line fighters up like Rockhold and he will knock them down is just the usual spin to keep him in the picture but the way Rockhold manhandled him and made it look like a Heavyweight vs Lightweight contest will mean he will only get spanked again (if) he ever gets the chance at a rematch. Fair play though, he is still making his money and he still has the best UFC Entrance going !
Disappointed with Ross Pearson who got taken apart by the usual American Wrestler. Yes Ross, he may have only just held position all fight but that still takes home the winners bonus for the fight. Joanne Calderwood was a great fight and good to see her honest appraisal afterwards that she wants to come and put on a show. She will stand and bang with anyone, good to see her take home £50k bonus. Wanted to see Paddy Hoolihan (Mcgregor's sidekick) fight, but not managed to watch it yet. |

not a bad card overall. I agree with your bisping assessment. he keeps very busy in his fights nicks points here and there but as you say he has peaked and the standard has got much better since he started.as for the joanne fight, wow what a tear up that was
|
|
By:
The question is... who next for Bisping ?
A rematch with Tim Kennedy maybe ? Or a chance to avenge "that knockout" against Dan Henderson would be a good fight. Could be a good one to put on the London card in early 2016. |
|
By:
would like to see a rematch with Henderson, am sure bisping would be a bit smarter this time

I saw the bisping result before I watched the fight but was surprised by how close it was, Leites inflicted a lot more damage on Bisping than vice versa, and he looked like mike's best shots did absolutely nothing. that was a razor close fight and afterwards I think this is about as far as he can go in the division. Leites is a really good fighter, but not top 5 material I would back weidman/jacare/rockhold/romero/machida/mousassi/whitaker/belfort heavilly at this point. I think the best viable matchups for him at this point are a hendo, kennedy, sonnen rematch and maybe a fight with anderson down the line a bit. I hope he gets the anderson fight tbh, that would be a great end to his career. Say what you want about bisping I like him and he's only lost to some of the best.
I haven't watched the rest of the card yet apart from duffy's fight. I was really impressed by him, looked so calm and sharp in there, almost McGregor like ironically enough! surprised to hear pearson lost though. he could be in a similar position to bisping, where he's just unable to crack the top echelon. especially if he lost to evan dunham I'd be surprised if he could even crack the top 15 at lightweight now. I'll make a new thread tomorrow in time for the Dillishaw-Barao remactch this weekend! |

I remember when Bisping first arrived on the scene and he fought in Manchester against Elvis Sinosic. The atmosphere that night during his entrance and when he won was amazing, a moment I will remember forever.
I think that was the night Gonzaga gave Crocop a head kick of his own if I remember rightly as well. |

By:
@a71867 yeah good to see them offering bellator lines, the exchange used to put up markets for strikeforce as well back in the day. also the connor fight possibly had the most money staked on a ufc fight maybe ever, which is a good sign
|
|
By:
haha yeah i remember that WA poor sinosic...he didn't have the easiest fights in the ufc (did sub jeremy horn though if i remember right!) wow that gonzaga kick was one of the most iconic finishes in history! jealous you got to see that live, did the whole arena go quiet?
|
|
By:
razz are u going to put up some money on the exchange for more liquidity for the mcgregor v aldo fight ?

|
By:
haha, I put up a bit earlier, too risky for any more though
