Can't wait for the main event, that's going to answer a LOT of questions about weidman and just how versatile he is. machida while having one of the most unique styles in the sport has the opportunity to achieve something only 2 men (B.J penn and Couture) have done before..to capture titles in 2 weight divisions. this could be a pivotal moment in the history books of the middleweight division and the entire sport, and will surely fill the void left by anderson's fall from the pedestal of greatest fighter of all time. There are some huge mismatches on the card as well, faber is miles above caceres in terms of experience and skill, and is solid parlay material. also interested in the ITD line for this one. Rousey should have no problems despatching davis, she has such an advantage in pure athleticism and her judo is going to give davis fits in the clinch, the way she tossed around miesha like a ragdoll was incredible. her striking while still pretty basic is much improving with each fight. her tko of mcmann in the clinch last time showed legit power in her knees and i can see her employing this randy couture esque approach to fighting, utilizing octagon control in the clinch, and peppering davis with dirty boxing and knees. she will likely be so comfortable in that position as she has her judo to use almost at will against davis. The only way i can see davis winning is by early sub, but there lies her biggest problem, she has NO way of taking rousey down and working her jiujitsu, and even if she does there is a HUGE danger of ronda getting the armbar. alexis's striking while fairly solid, to me seems like a moot point, if rousey can't compete in the stand up (and that in itself is a big if) she can just clinch with davis and judo throw her halfway across the octagon.
I'm playing ronda straight up, with some parlays as welll, and a small bet on fight ends inside the distance.
Mitrione and struve is an interesting one, there has to be value on mitrione as the underdog, struve is coming back of a pretty long lay off and a life threatening heart condition that had to be operated on. factor that in with his striking defense, broken jaw he suffered after mark hunt landed that godly left hook and the amount of times he's been K'O'd in his young career ,makes me worried for the guy. mitrione has improved leaps and bounds since he debuted, and being a former nfl player is extremly athletic and one of the fastest heavyweights in the sport. he literally moves like a lightweight. that being said mitrione has had mixed results in the octagon despite his big improvements. he is going to be seriously outmatched if the fight goes to the ground, struve has excelllant subs for a heavyweight and has very good offensive striking if he's not fast enough to get takedown's on matt.
anyone else betting on this? what say you betfair forum?!
betfair are a complete joke for adding ufc markets. occasionally they will be up months in advance, oyther times a couple of days before...
I asked them a few times about this and their reply is always " we only add them the week of the event because we find that the amount of money matched is no different." the sheer stupidity of this is ridiculous
