Anyone else surprised Garmin are not favs? I thought they backed out today, clearly saving themselves for tomorrow and have a huge incentive with Millar possibly taking the yellow jersey

Looks like Garmin are favs with a lot of books now, and rightly so. Their team is full of good time trialists, virtually the whole team is capable of a decent tt. So they look nailed on for the podium, and with the problems their 2 main rivals have they should really win this.

Last week i would have had them 3rd fav behind OPQS and Sky.
This is a stage OPQS will have targeted all along and being world champs will definitely be disappointed with anything less than a win. But Tony Martin is such a big factor in their team, the real driving force, that if he isn't 100% they will be so much less effective. Martin did look better today, rolling in with the main peleton, so if he is ok then OPQS should go close, but i just can't believe he will be anywhere near full fitness.
After winning the Giro team tt i'm sure Sky will be looking to win this one too, and at the start i'd have said they had a good chance. But with Thomas and Stannard both seemingly injured, it leaves a massive amount of work for Froome, Porte and Boasson-Hagen. If they drop the injured 2 early they will find it hard to make the podium with just 7 riders.

So main bet has to be GARMIN manged to get some 5/2 and that seems a fair price.

Also going to have a small ew on ASTANA at 300/1 there is often a shock team on the podium in these, and with some doubts about 2 of the main contenders theres a chance we may get one here. I think Radioshack and Belkin may also go well at big prices, but i'll take a chance on Astana putting up a surprise. Astana are often a well drilled team capable of a bold tt showing and in Fuglsang, Kessiakoff and Brajkovic they have 3 strong tt riders who should be suited to this course. I know Fuglsang is determined to finish top 10 gc at least, so hopefully he will be really dragging them to the line.

Amazing how many people are backing and laying on ITV4s coverage.  They would be better off investing in Eurosport.  Everytime I see an odds change I flick to ITV4 and notice they are coming back from a break.

Backed Sky for £40 @ 5.3 as well now.  Think they will pull it back as they know what they will need to do now.
