3 very different Lances during the view.

1. The race stuff, the cheating, the bullying - straightforward cough to that. He did use the nonsense "level playing field" argument and unfortunately Oprah let it pass but he looked relaxed when talking about those issues. (Sadly, she also failed to throw the name of Christophe Bassons at him during this part of the interview)

2. Jumpy/watchful when questioned about the donation to UCI following on from positive test results.

3. Very twitchy and engaged in avoidance techniques when asked about the conversation in the hospital room overheard by Betsy Andreu.

Why the difference?
Number 1 will cost him money, but he can afford it.
Numbers 2 and 3 could cost him his freedom.  Same old Armstrong. Cheat and liar.
When he says, "Absolutely not", does he think it carries any weight at all?

Oprah was a fail .

This interview was labeled as a no-holds barred

and when Armstrong didn't want to answer a question , he just didn't

and Oprah folded

Her agenda had nothing to do with digging away to get to the truth Seahawk. She's a very bright woman. She wanted the human story, the tears, the shame. As far as she's concerned she nailed it.
As for Armstrong, yes he admitted stuff. Basically he admitted everything that even one of the Armstrong cult had finally come to realise anyway. He turned knowledge that was common to all, into common knowledge.
He lied about being clean in his comeback. He ducked naming names, places and details that could leave him exposed to legal action. He changed the subject when asked about the hospital conversation and Adreu because if the truth comes out there, he's heading for prison.
And on the basis that he's a congenital liar I have little doubt he lied about the attempt to throw money at USADA. He certainly lied and hid the detail of the UCI donation.

Oprah was a fail , and for many reasons .

Do not equate being bright and impossible to fail . Things don't work like that , they are a little bit more convoluted .

I am not talking just about opinions , yours or mine , no , I am talking about facts that can be used to back opinions .

As you may know , Oprah stopped with her syndicated show to move on to new challenges . She created a new channel OWN .

OWN has been a bust . Looking for opportunities to boost her audience , she ran into Lance  , and of course , she had to agree with everything Lance ask , Lance knows she is in dire straits and she can not dictate her own terms , otherwise Lance woulda looked for somebody else .

The Armstrong no-holds barred interview had 2 parts .

The first part had 3.1 million viewers .

The second part had 1.2 million viewers .

The drop tells you what folks thought about this no-holds barred interview .

So she wanted the human side ???

So what about when she brought up Emma O'Reilly , and Lance said she got run over

Why she didn't ask him , Hey Lance , what do you mean she got run over ??? Who ran her over ???

The SOB can not say I ran her over ????

If he can not say it , then someone have to remind him how to say things properly .

Oprah failed .

It was an epic fail .

Oprah knows it , America knows it .

With her syndicated show , she used to command up to 12 million for a prime interview .

Numbers don't lie .

She doesn't do Paxman. She does Oprah. You must be mixing her up with, well, Paxman.
Armstrong chose her because he knew it meant a reasonably soft ride. It was a mutually beneficial interview. Catch yourself on man.
