I have seen many battles, but the Contador v Rodrigues epic on the mountains was brilliant.Attack after attack after attack from Contador, yet Rodrigues still was able to pinch 3rd. place.Supporters of other sports should have been watching, and seen what real fitness is about, especially the footie players. When I used to do circuit training I always noticed that the couple of cyclists in the gymn. would keep going until the end, whereas guys from other sports were flaked out well before the circuit had finished. As for me,well I was just behind the cyclists. The big thing about these Tours is that they have to go to the extremes day after day, putting enormous pressure on their bodies, strong minds needed too.
The attacks in the Tour were tame. When Liquigas put all their riders on the front of the pelaton,I thought they were going to try and crack Sky,but it was a real tame affair and they just fizzled out. That mountain stage on Monday was really special, only for the brave. Will be interesting next year if Contador and Wiggins take each other on.
