backed froome after reading your thoughts
By:
Why? Throw your money away why dont you
By:
i layed 2k on bertie at 1/2 after you said it was printing money. ive got cash to burn after opposing you.
By:
He is printing money. he will win this Tour. Nothing has changed. I will be proved right
By:
Two bets here
1. £50 Martin @ 2/1 with Lads 2. £70 Froome to beat Contador @ 8/15 with Lads |
By:
erm... is that big lump in the TT course not going to inconvenience martin?
By:
claydavis why do u make comments like 'he's printing money' ' he will win' etc?? its pathetic. even if it was generally agreed contador was the best GC rider in the tour there's still lots of things that can go wrong like crashes, illness, tactical errors etc etc. cut the ridiculous hyperbole and grow up a bit. nothing is certain in this life, least of all bike races.

What a stupid statement Denis, something I've grown to expect from you. Following your advice no one would bet. Anything can go wrong with any event at any time. I could get run over today. I'm planning my day on the basis that I won't. See how it works.
Contodor will win this Tour assuming he doesn't fall off a mountain. Get it? |
By:
Denis, it looks a fairly gradual climb to me, would still expect Martin to win this.
By:
The big lump is a category 3. Martin coped well enough with the category 1 at the end of 160km in stage 4, having escaped with the breakaway group on another cat 1 at the start.
By:
Talansky for me
By:
Whilst its true that Froome will surely make time up over Martin on the hilly section, whether he has enough to beat him over the whole stage is dubious in my eyes, and I think Martin is almost definitely in better form than he was in the Olympic TT, where in my eyes the wrist was still an issue.
I see it being Martin Froome Contador could well finish 3rd but I'm going to lay him top 3 on the basis that one of the younguns could like the track and improve a hell of a lot, like Kessiakoff or Talansky. |
By:
1.49 Martin
3.22 Talansky 3.44 Valverde 3.46 Contador 3.48 Froome 3.50 Rodriguez |

By:
Very quick time from the look of it by Castroviejo
2nd time check - Castroviejo 36:42 2 Chacon +3:38 3 Ignatyev +3:46 |

Chris Froome in the team car behind Ben Swift, getting a look at the course

By:
At finish - 1 Castroviejo 54:10 2 Maaskant +3:36 & 2 Ignatyev +4:45
By:
how technical is the descent?
By:
Martin +1 second to Lars Boom at the first checkpoint. Boom loses 40 seconds in the middle section, and the second checkpoint is at the top of the climb, so difficult to assess that.
By:
Market not impressed, just got some matched at 6
By:
what stream are you using mc?
By:
I'm not mate, just the website and twitter until 3.00
By:
Hill's done for Martin
By:
can he make this time up Mary?
By:
No
By:
Well, possibly over Meyer and Castroviejo but not over Froome and co I wouldnt have thought.
By:
Richie Porte fastest through 2nd checkpoint
By:
oops, mistranslated that. 7th fastest.
By:
He IS fastest. Confusion on twitter.
1. Richie Porte (185) 36:23 2. MEYER Cameron (155) at 00:12 3. NICOLAS Jonathan Castroviejo (002) at 00:19 |
By:
Martin disappointing there. 3rd best time, 22 seconds behind Mayer.
By:
Porte leads
By:
1. Richie Porte (185) 53:53
2. MEYER Cameron (155) at 00:00 3. NICOLAS Jonathan Castroviejo (002) at 00:17 |
By:
Kessiakoff fastest so far at the first c/p
By:
Kessiakoff flying
By:
Kessiakoff 1.15 up on Porte, fastest so far
By:
This is going to be bloody interesting. Contador 2 seconds quicker than Kessiakoff and Froome 2 seconds further back.
By:
Froome 18 seconds down on Kessiakoff, 16 seconds down on Contador. I've got this one badly wrong.
By:
Martin winner - wrong
Froome to beat Contador - wrong only thing I called right was Kessiakoff as a possible outsider. Did I back him at 250s? No, did I bol locks. ![]() |
By:
This Vuelta is all over. Hand the prize to Contador tonight. Game, set and match
By:
claydavis cleans up on his 5 euro lay :D
should be some great game theory in the mountains from here. |
