He is printing money. he will win this Tour. Nothing has changed. I will be proved right

Two bets here

1. £50 Martin @ 2/1 with Lads
2. £70 Froome to beat Contador @ 8/15 with Lads

claydavis why do u make comments like 'he's printing money' ' he will win' etc?? its pathetic. even if it was generally agreed contador was the best GC rider in the tour there's still lots of things that can go wrong like crashes, illness, tactical errors etc etc. cut the ridiculous hyperbole and grow up a bit. nothing is certain in this life, least of all bike races.

What a stupid statement Denis, something I've grown to expect from you. Following your advice no one would bet. Anything can go wrong with any event at any time. I could get run over today. I'm planning my day on the basis that I won't. See how it works.
Contodor will win this Tour assuming he doesn't fall off a mountain. Get it?

Denis, it looks a fairly gradual climb to me, would still expect Martin to win this.

The big lump is a category 3. Martin coped well enough with the category 1 at the end of 160km in stage 4, having escaped with the breakaway group on another cat 1 at the start.

Talansky for me

Whilst its true that Froome will surely make time up over Martin on the hilly section, whether he has enough to beat him over the whole stage is dubious in my eyes, and I think Martin is almost definitely in better form than he was in the Olympic TT, where in my eyes the wrist was still an issue.

I see it being
Martin
Froome

Contador could well finish 3rd but I'm going to lay him top 3 on the basis that one of the younguns could like the track and improve a hell of a lot, like Kessiakoff or Talansky.

how technical is the descent?
By:

When: 29 Aug 12 14:18
Martin +1 second to Lars Boom at the first checkpoint. Boom loses 40 seconds in the middle section, and the second checkpoint is at the top of the climb, so difficult to assess that.

Richie Porte fastest through 2nd checkpoint
By:

When: 29 Aug 12 14:44
oops, mistranslated that. 7th fastest.
By:
marychain1
When: 29 Aug 12 14:45
He IS fastest. Confusion on twitter.

1. Richie Porte (185) 36:23
2. MEYER Cameron (155) at 00:12
3. NICOLAS Jonathan Castroviejo (002) at 00:19
By:

When: 29 Aug 12 14:50
Martin disappointing there. 3rd best time, 22 seconds behind Mayer.
By:

When: 29 Aug 12 14:58

By:

When: 29 Aug 12 16:06
This is going to be bloody interesting. Contador 2 seconds quicker than Kessiakoff and Froome 2 seconds further back.
By:
marychain1
When: 29 Aug 12 16:24
Froome 18 seconds down on Kessiakoff, 16 seconds down on Contador. I've got this one badly wrong.
By:
marychain1
When: 29 Aug 12 16:25
Martin winner - wrong
Froome to beat Contador - wrong

only thing I called right was Kessiakoff as a possible outsider. Did I back him at 250s? No, did I bol locks. Laugh
