Well, here we are. Last Mountain stage. I really don't think Sky will be losing sleep tonight. Only VDB and Nibali are within attacking distance and they would have to not only catch their deficit but put in another 2 mins to make back what Wiggins and Froome will do on Saturday.

I think the break will stick. Cobo at big odds? Kessiakoff is cooked, Voeckler looked super today ... surely not again!

I'm having my 50p on Rolland and a bit of betting in running.

I see that Voeckler is trading in the top 10 in the betting for the stage.  I'm not one for laying 50/1 shots but there can not be even the remotest possibility of Voeckler winning after today's effort.  Now that VDB can't do better than 4th (barring an accident) I am tempted by Vanendert after his performances going uphill in the Pyrenees last year if Lotto will let him off the leash,

Vanendert is a great call imo

Vanendert doesn't have the legs this year.

I think Vanendert will work for VDB, a lay IMO.

Pinot and Rolland E/W for me. Uphill finish so the usual Froome over Wiggo H2h as well

Rollande & Martinez today.

Euskaltel might like to "send one" on a day like this.

Difficult one. There's no reason to chase down the break but the relatively calm section between the 1st category climb and the main one means it might struggle to get far enough away.

Watching brief for the moment. If Pinot's legs are up to it he might have another go

Are people planning on getting on breakaway riders early, its been profitable over the last few stages

Going to have a bit of Cobo if this stays away.

well...got two runners in the embryonic break....but then it's a big break..and I can't see sky letting them go until it slims down a bit...

would it be a good idea to limit teams to only say 4members to add more excitement ?

UK Postal choking the life out of it again - Pierre Rolland too much of a threat at *just* 10 minutes down

Hi GB.
Agree on Rolland. Took him only as an attacker on last ramp.
Was really hoping for Martinez for the value.

Afternoon FV - didn't see this weather on the forecast - maybe fitting for the damp squib we're watching

Well at least the KOM comp is kind of interesting but without Kiserlovski it doesn't look like Astana have the firepower

Chapeau to Nibali GB for mixing it up....but Sky will surely chase it down.

It might be one of the dullest in years...but you can't blame Sky for their tactics.

The route has made it possible.

Why did Nibali sit up? WTF was the point in attacking then

Nibali I suppose was trying to get one of the Sky duo to take a few risks on the descent (i.e. induce a crash) but they weren't going to fall into that trap

Why is Nibali 5/2?

it is a good ad and probably the best sports-car ad. Definitely better than any of the attempts to sell cars through football Grin

Bizarrely..it makes me want to think about getting a Skoda...

Advertising eh...?

Tricky stuff.

Meanwhile....looks like I picked the wrong Euskaltel boy.....again.

Tought Liquigas where going to send Nibali off the front & do an 8 man block across the narrow climb.
Only chance  imo.

Hmmm ... they aren't going up as quickly as Sky would be .... so ... errrrr ...... trying not to tire Nibali out?!

I think Liquigas want to put more time into the 4th & 5th just to give an extra cushion to Nibali in the time trial.
