Anyone going to the cycling time trials in August?

I am certain that this event was originally billed as a no ticket event. I'm sure there was no facility to apply for tickets when the whole farcical procedure began or I'd have applied.

Now it seems you can't get into Hampton Court without one. 

Does anyone know whether I got it wrong or was there a change?
