The toughest climb in cycling (imo) is back in this year's Vuelta a Espana - the Alto d'Angliru.

Sunday 4th September. Put it in your diaries.

The clips below are the last time the Vuelta went up the Angliru in 2008.

It's absolutely crazy. Harder than the Galibier, Tourmalet, Alpe d'Huez, Zoncolan and Mortirolo imo. Mental gradients at some points.

One year, in wet conditions on the Angliru, the cars couldn't get up (on one stretch the gradient is 23%).

David Millar abandoned one metre before the line in protest.

most stupid action I've ever seen from a professional bike rider, if he doesn't like to ride up mountains he should stay on the track or choose another sport.
