I didn't think he'd win but I have no dislike for him.  He impressed me when he carried on racing with the broken elbow the other year very tough man.

cut me a slice i thought he had very little chance  but two great rides on thurs and fri to close gaps and an awesome time trial  .  well done to all who were wise before the event

A great ride and deserving winner but loveable and popular he aint. It's a brave bloke who tries to interview Cadel if he's had a bad day.

Never thought he could win as I thought he'd blown his best chances but pleased for him that he did.  He is a much nicer and more relaxed person than the grumpy sonofabitch of years past. Everything went right for him this year - tactically inept Schlecks (with junior still thinking he had enough time to spare after L'Alpe d'Huez!), below par Contador, abandons of Wiggins and Van den Broeck (both of whom might have done something) and in cracking form and very well-tuned up himself.  Did the final TT a minute quicker than in the Dauphine (and the prep of the TT in the Dauphine probably helped a lot) and his team was second in the TTT which showed how much better support he had than in previous years.

Well he seems ok to me,perhaps i dont know him as well as you do Larry.

Ante-post Cadel backer signing in. A good win at a nice price. Market was pricing on past failure and not on 2011 form...but I've still got to eat humble pie...as I never truly believed he could really do it.
