i.e. v little between the better climbers, no longer guys shooting off uphill like they're on a motorbike and taking minutes out of the other. Seems almost impossible to gain more than a few secs now unless yr rival has a mechanical problem or somesuch.

Looks like Voeckler is gonna be in yellow come the TT.

I hope your right Sir denis. It does seem a bit strange that a lot of the top riders are so evenly matched.

We could get the first drug free winner since Greg le mond.

You were saying??
Report Sir Denis Eton-Hogg July 19, 2011 7:03 PM BST
most time was made on the descent
Report jsimpson67. July 19, 2011 7:12 PM BST
going to be some fireworks in the alps

if andy doesnt lose more time tomorrow hes still right in there
Report ronsk July 19, 2011 9:02 PM BST
50/50 time gain split between climb and decent... and it was only a Category 2 climb.
Report Sir Denis Eton-Hogg July 19, 2011 10:58 PM BST
the schleck group lost about 20 secs on contador/evans at the top of the climb. this is not a big deal. im talking about individual cyclists who go off on alp duez, vontaux etc like they're on a motorbike i.e. Tyler Hamilton, armstrong, pantani, riis etc and gain several minutes on their rivals

Your right I reckon Sir Denis. Trying to think of that Italian guy within the last couple of years who sprouted wings with a team mate and was then found positive?
David Millar believes it to be the case, saying if they're all eating the same, drinking the same and have no extras they'll be quite close.
I do hope so as this is turning into a great Tour IMO, perhaps for that reason.

Marco Pantani ^^^

More than a couple of years mind, Floyd Landis the other most notable druggie. American.
Report Catford Toteboard July 20, 2011 9:12 PM BST
Nah, not Pantani. Was Team Scott/some euro central heating company. Its doing my head in nowCry

Riccardo Ricco.

David Miller is such a patronising, hypocritical human being.
Report MeatIsMurder July 20, 2011 10:26 PM BST
Lol at Ricco, he was one of the worst 'dopers' ever. He rode for Saunier, seem to remember him winning multiple Tour De France stages and then being arrested pretty much straight afterwards lolol

Cheers lads thats the fella!

Rico, Piepoli and an innocent youngster charged up the Hautacam for Scott- Saunier. Played havoc with my bets when they were thrown out.
Isn't it marvelous: the only year I don't get involved, its clean!

After years of doing my conkers because of drug cheats (Landiss owes me a fortune) I've not had a bet this year yet, but am enjoying the sport.

Want Voeckler to win, but will take anyone but Contador.

Think Millar's ok now really MIM, tells it like it is.

read this for full drug-related details. it seems that finally the sport is (nearly) clean, and it is clear that it is a good thing not just morally but also in terms of competitiveness and entertainment
