I consider there's a real chance the guy is on the Spanish beef.

14/1 presently, but I'm sure you could get more.

there only 2 stages he has to worrie about...stage 18 and stage 19
|
|
By:
Think he's hanging on in these climbs by the skin of his teeth - same with Evans. Andy S is totally preoccupied with Contador and has yet to drop the hammer. When he does Voeckler and everyone else apart from AC will lose a lot of time in the Alps.

Maybe its a the history of dramatic improvement of certain tour stars , maybe im just a cynic or the dope to be a doubting thomas

@ nairda
Stage 18: Pinerolo to Galibier Serre-Chevalier over 200&1/2 km Stage 19: Modane Valfréjus to Alpe-d’Huez over 109&1/2 km Cheers, SP |

He's doing a good job of hanging on if that's what he's doing.
|
|
By:
Check the movement of his odds throughout the Tour, and ask yourself what else he could be doing if not hanging on?
|
|
By:
even if he survives stages 18 & 19 in yellow, he will lose it in stage 20!

@bb66
Stage 20: ITT around Grenoble over 42.5 km. Cheers, SP |

Voekler has already done the stage 20 TT this year, so has Evans its the exact stame stage as stage 3 on the Dauphine, Voeckler was about 2 minutes slower as I recall.
I'd like to see Voeckler hang on to yellow at least until the TT, that would make for some excitement. I personally think he has a good chance, Pierre Rolland is doing a fantastic job with him on the climbs, while Voeckler is not a match for Contador and Schlek(s) when the going gets really tough on the evidence we have seen so far I don't see anyone taking two minutes out of him before the TT. In my opinion this will come down to the final TT. |
|
By:
that another thing...eurocar has been working very hard to keep him in yellow, Eurocar team would have to be thinking he has a chance to win this
|

By:
@gOldstarr
If that's true than it'll be very close indeed, if the margin stays the same as he's got 2'06 over Evans now. Cheers, SP |

as Lance already twittered, Tommy might finish on the podium, at least top 5, I think he'll lose around 1' on Galibier and Alpe d'Huez, not sure of who'll distance him (Schlecks, hopefully Cadel, maybe too much for AC to make up 2' before ITT). We may have 5 contenders for the podium starting ITT, Tommy's battle reminding me to Chiappucchi resisting Lemond till last ITT in 1990.

@nairda
Good observation, they have been working hard for him. Cheers, SP. |

@bb66
Very interesting input. Additionally, you have a very good memory. Cheers, SP. |

1990 the 1st Tour I was able to watch full coverage on ES, so it's marked in my mind as is the WC race 1989 in Chamberry ('Where does Kelly come from??!!!')

btw, after his work done for Delgado on the Alpe d'Huez stage 1990 I predicted Indurain will win the Tour within the next 3 years, but no bookie offered such a bet then.

Not only did Indurain win one in the next three years, but he won one every year for the next five consecutive years. You oviously know this, but clearly you identified genius before he began to stamp his authority on the Tour, and that takes skill or a good eye.
I found my interest in the Tour, in the years where names such as Virenque and Pantani were being mentioned. Pity about your limited betting options back then; yeah, things have changed a tad since them days. Cheers, SP |

Hello guys!
I backed Voeckler @ 140. Should I lay now or wait a bit? I'm a complete amateur. Just went for him on a fluke a few days back. ![]() Suggestions most welcome! |

By:
No-one ever went broke by taking a profit. Trade out now.
|
|
By:
I'd trade for maybe 3 times green on Voeckler than on the rest, hoping for a bit smaller odds to come though I doubt he will go much shorter than 10, but be prepared to react during the mountain stages.
|
|
By:
Voeckler won't win the overall.
|
|
By:
@A-T
Perhaps you could elaborate on your opinion, in order to more clearly define your obvious confidence in Voeckler not winning? Cheers, SP. |

@A-T
Jolly good, I see that you have done so on another thread. Cheers, SP. |
