The best climber in the field. If he improves his time trials could go very well at 100/1.

Was thinking of backing him in top6 or maybe even top3 market.

...in order for Van den Broek to keep the podium in sight, Omega Pharmo-Lotto must erase the team trial collapse of 2009 that sank the GC hopes of Cadel Evans.

Velonews 2011 Official Guide

Had his moments in the Dauphine but wasn't overly impressive.

I can see him going into top 5, and maybe even fight with Evans and Basso for the 3rd place. No way he will win, and I have no idea how you figure he is the best climber in the field. He is no where near. Expect him to be dropped again when Contador and A. Schleck put some real pace on it.

well there might be some 'issues' at OPL - one of the ex-pro's who looks after the VIP's at the TdF has been caught with a package of 'supplements' from Oz...

will be interesting to see how this plays out.... Philbert & JVDB might 'suffer'...

Well for my sins...I've had a speculative bet on JVDB [at 100+]....who is categorically not the best climber in the field.

Personally...I think he's got a chance at 5th....all things being equal...but his price is stupid compared to Wiggins and other potential 5th placers...and if we get something stupid [think Pereiro 2006] happening ...who knows...

Besides...he's Belgian...

[But then again...so is Wiggins! :D ]

Very solid performace yesterday from JVDB. None of the media are talking about him which i find quite amusing. Hopefully his team won't lose him much time today. Just wait till the mountains...... [;)]

I thought the Omega tim did as well as can be expected today. Noticed JVDB was doing a lot of the work - shows what great form he is in. Can't wait for the mountains....

Looked very fresh again today - may have actually won the stage had he not led it out for his team mate Clement.

Surely he is good value at 15's in betting without AC and AS. Good climber and improved in TT
