So saslokk isn't feeling lonely - will weigh in with my first bet of the season - I only really like the DH and SG. Hans Olsson managed a couple of World Cup Downhill podiums the season before last (including 3rd here) and his best last year was a 4th. Fill and Hudec both got their maiden wins in this race having skied well at Lake Louise before and I can see Olsson going the same way. I have had £10 win 40/1 but mainly concentrated on the podium price - 14/1 £30
Olsson has been poor in training Have had a further two bets - one of them quite chunky. I just don't get the price for Carlo Janka - when the books opened he was top priced 6/1 which I felt was on the big side but he has now drifted to as big as 10/1 after two training runs which were not that bad as he showed some really good speed. Lake Louise was where he shot to fame two years ago by finishing 2nd from start position 65 and last year he was 3rd. That was the spark last season which saw him win three of the other six World Cup downhill races - I cannot see how he can be bigger than 5/1 The second skier is Italian Peter Fill who has been dogged by injury the last couple of seasons but the last time he was here he won in 2008 (had been 3rd previously) and was 4th in training yesterday - 20/1 & 5/1.
