lost my bottle on the roads after a crash in summer...more than 50% of my riding is on the canal bank now which is a pretty good surface but my daily run involves negotiating 14 sleeping policemen....so my requirements if possible are
a light weight bike which can take the sleeping policemen in its stride but which is still at home on the roads....dont want mountain bike tyres due to excessive drag on the roads...any recommendations ?

1  mtb/hybrid with suspension lock and Schwalbe Big Apple tyres (fat but apparently better rolling than mtb tyres).

2  a Moulton (short travel stiff suspension but still fast with high pressure tyres). Thinking of getting one myself; just wish they looked less like a supermarket trolley.
