AS expected Laxey's Mark Cavendish had to settle for a finish way down the field on Friday's stage 12 of this year's Tour de France.

The hilly 210.5km test between Bourg de Peage and Mende was never going to favour the Manxman and so it proved as he ended the stage in 162nd way down on eventual winner Joaquim Rodriguez...

The maillot vert is nowon the shoulders of the Italian Alessandro Petacchi, already a winner of two stages, but second to Cavendish today, while the Manxman is now only 29 points adrift...

The HTC-Columbia rider was cruising towards a comfortable victory — his 13th stage win in the Tour — when team-mate Mark Renshaw took a decidedly overenthusiatic approach to clearing the Manxman's path.

AGGGHHH!!! I'm sory but if I come across another lazy article with fekking "Manxman" in relation to Cavendish I think I'll go insane. Lazy journalism or what?

Anybody else really irritated by this or is it just me? Why is it not possible to mention his name without the M word???
Do we constantly get Gerrard the Scouse? Or Tiger Woods the Yank? No, so why do we have to endure it with the fekking Manxman Candish, AGGGHHH!!!!

Anyway, do you think he can win win without his best mate? Personally I think he has a good team around him and can still score a win on the next sprint day.

Sorry, but I just had to get that off my chest, sorry. Fekking lazy journalism, AGGGHH!!!
