longest stage today, another one for sprinters, cav fav again at 2,2 ish
Report GoBallistic July 9, 2010 12:49 AM BST
I reckon there's a decent chance the breakaway could stick

Anyway I will be having the day off - traveling over for the weekend stages in the Alps. Hopefully the race isn't done and dusted by the time I get back
Report derekoneill July 9, 2010 3:56 AM BST
Cavendish looks value to me at the moment for todays stage.
Report LazyRamper July 9, 2010 7:46 AM BST
Back to those prices with a win without competition?

Depends if Saxo are interested in keeping the jersey as I can't see the top sprinters teams being particularly interested in chasing down the breakaway for the first 170km.
Report bournetowin July 9, 2010 9:12 AM BST
I think Cav will be anxious to get another win under his belt today with his next chance not being until Thursday but it may have more to do with the size of the breakaway.  If only  2/3 go up the road HTC may be content to let them go and let Cav pick up the points in the mass sprint behind but a bigger group and far fewer points available to the peloton will see HTC doing big turns on the front to bring it all back together.

Could be an interesting and very tactical stage but overall i would be with a Cav win today.

Personally looking forward to tomorrow more with a breakaway win for Thomas Voeckler, any time he's been on camera in the first week hes been rolling along towards the back of the peloton, conserving energy.  Tomorrow looks as if it might suit him well unless of course he goes up the road today!!!
Report frippar July 9, 2010 9:18 AM BST
the breakaway might have a chance even today, but they need to stay out very long and I doubt they can do it

3 man breakway, no one within 8 minutes on GC, seems ideal for a breakaway win.
Report Blomapojcraiga July 9, 2010 11:46 AM BST
Will any of the breakaway stay ?
Report federalski July 9, 2010 1:00 PM BST
I sure hope so for the Green Jersey for Thor.
All surely up to Garmin and Saxo, and perhaps Lampre later to chase.
Report JORDI July 9, 2010 2:17 PM BST

I am just glad Thor did not go down, had a good old dose of 'speed wobble'. Could have been nasty.
