Still got a lot of ground to make up?
Report C1rclemaster May 25, 2010 6:47 PM BST
33/1 is overpriced tho,i cant dispute the fact they have plenty of ground to make up, but shud they make the top 4 i promise you 33/1 is huge, with the exception of Poole, Coventrys new look team looks on a par with anyone elses in the league if not better.
Report pilgrim pete May 25, 2010 11:50 PM BST
Yess looks alot better, bit adrift fair bit off ground to make........trouble just cant see pass poole, if it was not for that idiot Hawk all what ever he called himslef....Would have gone large on them at the beginning off the season
Report C1rclemaster May 26, 2010 11:45 PM BST
Looks like the eway steal is gonna go astray, Eastie want Lewis back, it appears he will ride just two matches for Cov before going back to Eastie.
Report dogmad May 28, 2010 1:19 PM BST
good news for coventry circle that pratis a waste of space wouldn't pay him in dog muck.thank god he's left panthers
Report Ray Burn May 28, 2010 6:13 PM BST
If they can come up with a half decent replacement for bridger they could still make top 4......hopefully  -  I'm on at bigger than 33's e/w!
Report pilgrim pete May 31, 2010 8:09 PM BST
33-1 not looking good tonight...Seems they have gone back to being crap...Well ive done my money on them tonightCry
Report C1rclemaster May 31, 2010 11:25 PM BST
Bridger now confirmed as a Cov rider for the rest of the season, will need to improve on tonights showing tho...

Fair effort from the bees to turn it around tonight on a track that was very ill prepaired compaired to how it is most weeks.
Report pilgrim pete June 1, 2010 12:05 AM BST
Why they want Bridger ,hes crap...But was a first have never seen both teams use a tac before....Turn out to be a good match to watch...
Report C1rclemaster June 1, 2010 9:49 AM BST
Agreed tonight he was very poor, but there aint a team in the league who wouldnt want him on a 4.24 average... shud he drop to reserve when the next set of GSA come out i would be dissapopinted if he aint getting double figure scores from a possible 7 rides
Report pilgrim pete June 1, 2010 11:31 AM BST
Agree at reserve will be good.....Just wish my team here could start up again Exeter Falcons, been talk about them getting a track indoors, but been too many storys 5 years and nothing ever happensCry...So for now, got to watch somerset and plymouth
Report C1rclemaster June 1, 2010 2:35 PM BST
Im in the same boat as you Pete, Oxford is my local club and there appears little chance of any racing there in the near future, greedy landlords want way to much rent for the stadium, the clowns would rather have it empty...

Now watching our old rivals Swindon and Cov
Report pilgrim pete June 1, 2010 3:53 PM BST
Alan Trump had a hand in oxford, he brought out exeter promise us all, but ended up with nothing...Being honest did seem a good chap think he tryed his best....Do hope oxford come back...At least you can watch Elite league racing...

Somerset is good, have a great track ,loads off differant lines and see plenty of overtaking....As for plymouth its follow the leader, track so small and one racing line, they get crowds off 1500-2000 unreal !!..Meant to be going premier league next year, trouble guy who owns them is just after money..

Fairly crass to use such phrases when putting up any tip but as they opened at around 2.8 and traded as low as 1.5, he should have made some money if he was sensible
Report smooth flyer October 19, 2010 9:59 AM BST
Good call circle. Must admit I thought they'd have it all to do to reach play offs, hope you managed to get enough on?
Report worcesterwilly November 1, 2010 3:28 PM GMT
Circle....how long were you going to Oxford......do you go as far back as 82??...

Pilgrim......what happened to proposed site at Haldon - was'nt inside the Exeter NH Horse track??....

feck me I feel old....I used to do a bit of riding myself 2nd halves best I got to but seeing ref to Kennett makes me feel ancient I used to eat the dirt of Barney and Dave.....Gordon was different class to his brothers......best inside line rider I ever saw.....decent bloke too.....his ma used to make cracking sausage sandwiches at Arlington in the winter training schools..
Report pilgrim pete November 2, 2010 10:05 PM GMT
Haldon alls gone  tits up,,they fellout rumors that it may still go ahead..And yes you are right there...Was talk about buliding a inside track in Exeter, was going to be so small..

But all we get is storys and nothing happens..Hope something happens but being honest cant see anything happening Cry
Report worcesterwilly November 3, 2010 9:47 AM GMT
I hope you get a track sorted Pilgrim...

I never rode there but spannered there a few times (the Old County Ground)....in the days of Bobby Coles...remember Michael starting too...also remember Scott Autrey,Jan and Vaclav Verner... ....the much missed Kev Holden too....very good people down there I recall......is Devon Shirt Designs still in existence??...

I used to go to the training school at Weymouth.....days of Wiggy,Martin Yeates,Stan "the man" Bear....Johnny McNeill...who I knew quite well....I flogged a few of his records for him...."I wanna be like Ivan Mauger"...it was called.....the old Radipole Lane??.....feck me it was dangerous....rough as hell and the lighting was kind of old street lights....you rode in/ot ligh and dark down the straights......happy days!
Report pilgrim pete November 3, 2010 11:53 AM GMT
Bobby Coles, turning back the clock did not see him..But yes Michael he was there for years !!,was a good rider in hes days but liked the drink..lol

Wow would have loved to just be a spanner man for aday ,let alone be able to have a few rides...

Ivan Mauger rode the last 4 laps round the county ground before it closed, never be another track like it again, the high banking and steal fence[:(].

Yes Devon shirt designs still going, now stuck with watching plymouth were old Mark Simmonds and Seemond Stephens rides old exeter boys...But try to watch somerset most times have such a great track lots off lines, always good racing..

Exeter was meant to be not running for 1 year !!!, 6 years latter nothing...

Pilgrim...

I was actually born about 5 miles from the old Cradley Heath track - know the feeling - thats 15 years and counting....albeit I never really rode there as late 70's and early 80's if you were'nt Danish or Yank you did'nt get a look in off Peter Adams...

The places I rode at and saw regularly nearest to Exeter were....

The original Belle Vue.....very painful fence...solid wood!
The Shay - Halifax Dukes....not quite as big as Exter but steel fence
Workington - still there I believe - big fast bowl...
Bradford - Odsal...now tarmaced over....
Crewe......never saw speedway there just missed it as it closed in 73 I believe probably similar to Exeter I went to a stock car meet there once...huge place

Having done a lot of early learning at Eastbourne and Stoke I preferred the smaller tracks....my favourite of all was Hackney - medium sized but a proper race track.....

happy days.....I really really hope you get something sorted soon...never been to Somrset...rarely go now but I must pop down there some time....not too far down the M5...

PS...Did you ever go to Bristol - Eastville...Bristol Rovers...open I recall 78-79 ish....more sand track than speedway and so bloody narrow....
