I was just booking Froch v Kessler and noticed they're also showing Sylvia v Pudzianowski (the greatest World's Strongest Man of all time, for those that don't know).

To some it's a freak show but to me it's intriguing. His first fight was fun to watch and to face Sylvia in just his third fight, and only two weeks after his second, is quite some challenge, even if Sylvia is a shot fighter.

Is May 21st and this I saw it as being £5.95.

Just watched Mariusz Pudzianowski first fight.Bit of meat behind the leg kicks lol.

Imagine if Sylvia lay on top of him, he'd just bench press him up in the air

Cardio has to be a worry with his frame though so might not get much value for your £5.95

Seemingly he weighs about 310lbs so won't be seing him in the ufc anytime soon, which brings up a point about the 265lb limit being a bit low given the giants in the ufc just now.(has to come a point when a genuine challenger wont be able to make 265 surely?)

I disagree i dont mind paying to watch mma that wouldnt normally be shown, £5.95 isnt a lot of money for a few hours entertainment presuming there is an undercard being shown as well. Dont get me wrong i dont want it to be like in the usa where every single evnet is $50 ppv, i just like the option of non ufc events being shown live should we want to pay to watch. I would happily pay to watch wec tonight if it was on ppv tv or strikeforce events.

WAR PUDZIANOWSKI!!!!!!!

i agree stalin, aslong as the price is right id love to pay say £15 (the price for boxing box offices) for strikeforce or WEC. Id think about paying the 5.99 if there was a undercard too.

Eagerly looking forward to this, not really a fan of MMA but a keen WSM viewer. Mariusz is an absolute beast, those kicks in his 1st fight were ridiculous. Very interested to see how far he can go

Yep, I'm intrigued by how people without a typical martial arts background will do. Looking forward to James Toney too. If you watch the first few UFCs then it was a little like this, combatants with one speciality meeting another with a different field of expertise.

And have watched every WSM except from this one, has been part of Christmas for me for years until terrestrial gave up on it and Bravo did one show a week.

Here's his first fight for those who haven't seen it:

I read he weighed in at 277lb so cutting to 265lb isn't out of the question.

Yes, i'm fascinated to see how far brute strength can get you. His karate and boxing background will help out. I'm no expect but technique seems to count for a fair bit in MMA but is there a great deal you can do when the world's strongest man is kicking lumps out of you??

It was a shame about WSM, thankfully I read up on it and found out it was on Bravo

interesting fight.

normally you would say the longer the fight goes you'd have to fancy the cardio of the MMA fighter to shine and for him to win cosily.

but this is tim sylvia FFS and Pudz is extremely fit. reckon it'll be the opposite...Pudz to survive the first round and KO Sylvia in the 2nd as he wilts.

expect to see him in strikeforce or dream after this Loooool
