Women's race was suspended when it went live; but in the 2nd part of the race live betting became available.
Now live-betting got suspended for men's race... will go back alive before the end of the race, how to know this?

Kind this has quite a bad effect to someone trying to 'trade' (back & lay same item) :/

some "problem" as usual..

Fis has clear results with handicap start and Björgen win, and "handicap" start with Kalla win.

Betfair have Handicap with no " " and thats just it is on every other bookers too.

Besides when its Handicap start, the winner is competitor who finishis first. Otherwise it isnt handicap.

the mens has been settled now , not even finished yet, no idea who they settled as top 3
Report mande March 21, 2010 1:44 PM GMT
Markets void. There was clearly said that markets settled on official results, not arrival order. This stinks.
Report downto you March 21, 2010 1:46 PM GMT
the fact that both faves were 1.1 or shorter was the clue that everyone knew that they had a big handicap start, it was marketed as a handicap , where is the issue ?

There is issue. Not "arrival order" but official results.

Why do BF change rules on every handicap race in CC? And the essential paragraph was put down at the bottom of the rules section too.

When the women's markets were suspended losers were available available to lay @1.01, and nobody took it, how would you call that? I'd say stupid!
Report bb66 March 21, 2010 1:51 PM GMT
how wants to bet live on net times in a handicap race? I'd say nobody.
Report bb66 March 21, 2010 1:52 PM GMT
*Who ....
Report mande March 21, 2010 1:52 PM GMT
I laid enough of 1.01. Didn't want to take bigger risk than necessary because I knew that there is a chance that BF will mess this up...again.
Report downto you March 21, 2010 1:52 PM GMT
The betting was the indicator for betfair, it was apparently obvious that everyone was betting on the race with the handica that is why the fave was 1.07 a the start with kowalski 10 and all the others 50 or bigger IF it was on todays times the betting would have been completley different and much more open with the fav being about evens
Report mande March 21, 2010 1:53 PM GMT
bb66, you know that there was same confusion in Tour de skis final climb. Then bets were settled after net times.
Report bb66 March 21, 2010 1:58 PM GMT
At Tour de Ski there were seperate markets for overall and handicap at the final climb, but the earlier handicap races of the TdS were settled FPTP.

Btw, I'd saved my positions here greening out, but it's stupid how every time BF produces confusion.
Report bb66 March 21, 2010 2:00 PM GMT
For me there was no confusion in the final climb, I only was unable to calculate the net times fast enough, as there wee problems with live timing and the differences between the leading women were within tenth of seconds.
Report oreo March 21, 2010 2:01 PM GMT
I understood the betting as "downto you" explained.

Now my bets backing the winner (northug) have dissapeared :/

And how can one bet on NON-handicam times with such a finish by Northug - standing there greeting the crowd untill the guy in the 2nd place comes that close that he just just crosses the finish line ahead of him, while he would of had 30-40 sec advantage otherwise.

Basically, it should be clear that the winner is the one who crossed the finish line first - just like the betting showed.

Market were just the same as other bookies. Others settled as Björgen. Everyone but Betfair.
Report mande March 21, 2010 2:03 PM GMT
I know there was separate markets in TdS. In other handicap starts there is usually FPTP in market name. Now there wasn't and there was addition in rules section

"This market will be settled based on the Official Result provided by the International Ski Federation, and NOT on the Arrival Order."

I agree with you that there is too often controversy in these things. I mailed BF asking them to unvoid markets and settle them correctly after results that are found from FIS site.
Report jou jou farming March 21, 2010 2:03 PM GMT
Just same for Northug. Odds 1.15 -1.20.

No idea to void.
Report downto you March 21, 2010 2:12 PM GMT
Its crazy to void it as anyone who follows these events would have been borrowing money to lay both faves at sub 1.1 pre race if it was on todays times only , it seems the only people unaware of how this worked was betfair.
Report bb66 March 21, 2010 2:12 PM GMT
There were no FPTP hints on yesterday's biathlon pursuit races too!
Report mande March 21, 2010 2:14 PM GMT
There was not "This market will be settled based on the Official Result provided by the International Ski Federation, and NOT on the Arrival Order." in rules section in biathlon markets.
Report Summin Else March 21, 2010 2:14 PM GMT
How come the prize money is paid out on the result http://www.fis-ski.com/pdf/2010/CC/3198/2010CC3198PR.pdf and not the arrival order? I guess that could be why BF offered it like that.
Report jou jou farming March 21, 2010 2:15 PM GMT
http://www.fis-ski.com/uk/604/610.html?sector=CC&raceid=16230

there U can see results with handicap.

Other results are for 10F """ handicap"""
Report oreo March 21, 2010 5:48 PM GMT
Summin Else about prize money, it could be like this because it was the final race of a so-called "many-day-race" event, the final time was made up of 3 or 4 races results (just like in say "tour de france" in cycling).

Another betting site (bwin.com) had Northug at around 1.10 before the competition, and payed out with him as the winner, so handicap was taken into account (he would not be the winner by only today's competition time).

So what's the lesson... don't waste time on unclear things next time? :/
Report mande March 21, 2010 6:09 PM GMT
It's pointless to compare how other bookies settled their markets because other bookies didn't have:
This market will be settled based on the Official Result provided by the International Ski Federation, and NOT on the Arrival Order.
clause in their rules.
