Klaus Kroell 14/1 (Might get higher price at the odd bookmaker or Betfair) Won one of two downhills in this hill last season. Amongst the best in training both runs. Cuche is the natural fav here, but we have seen him not skiing his best in Norway before when it is competition day and although he is the one to beat, stranger things have happened. Expect a tight race and Kroell might just pull out the surprise win.
Women's Downhill - Crans Montana
Anja Paerson 16/1 William Hill This price is way too big. She never gives 100% in training but is almost always the one to watch out if Vonn would fail for once. Paerson has never been 16/1 in downhill for the last seasons and it is no reason to put her there now. Remember, she was on her way to a most likely silver medal in the Olympic Games, and close to the gold, before flying 60m in the air and incredibly enough was fit to take a medal the day after in the Super Combined. This is really nice value and a must bet in my opinion.
If one is looking for more outsiders, Hans Olsson and Fabienne Suter might fit the bill to generous prices.
