Not exactly a clash between teams in top form, but this is potentially an interesting game nonetheless.
The Colts have generally struggled offensively this season so far - they managed 20pts against Houston with Jonathan Taylor flying (the only time he's really been on fire this year), and 20pts in their surprise win over the Chiefs but the Kansas defense has been pretty generous to most teams through five games.
Last time out, they scraped a win in a Field Goal fest with Denver, and when these two teams met in Week 2, Indianapolis didn't put a single point on the board. There hasn't been any fluency to their drives and Matt Ryan has looked a bit lost at times, out of sync with his receivers and making some questionable QB decisions.
It's possible that they get Taylor back in the line-up this week. If they do and he's close to 100% fit, and hits the ground running, they have some kind of scoring threat. If that's not the case, it's hard to see them putting up a good score against a solid Jacksonville defense.
The Jaguars themselves have been in and out, racking up 38 points against the Chargers and then only registering 6 in a defeat to the Texans in consecutive weeks. When they get rolling, they look like a decent unit going forward and have some useful running and receiving options available to them.
Having broken their away-game hoodoo by beating LAC, and coming up against a team they blew away 24-0 less than a month ago, I think there's every chance Jacksonville can bounce back in this one, and generous looking odds of around 6/5 or a little bigger make it worth taking that chance.
The predictor has this as Jacksonville Jaguars 19-15 Indianapolis Colts.
Grrrr... Jacksonville blew it having effectively led throughout, with a sense of inevitability and impending doom (for me at least) through those last few minutes. A decent contest, but the Colts offense seemed to play itself into form through the game.
