This is a quandary because Kyler Murray has an ankle sprain and may or may not be fit to start for Arizona. At this stage, it really seems like a 50-50 call. Common sense might suggest that that makes this game a leave-alone, at least until closer to game time on Sunday evening, but I think there might be an angle here.

San Francisco have looked like a team in disarray in recent weeks, and I'm not yet convinced that a win over the similarly moderate Chicago Bears last week means they have turned the corner (it was better though). They generally have an offense that puts a lot of yards on the board but is inefficient at converting these into points. Here, they face a really solid defensive unit - when they met a few weeks ago, they were held to 10 points in a low-scoring defeat and it's easy to envisage another relatively low return from the 49ers.

Looking at Arizona, they will be keen to bounce back from their first loss of the season which came against a Packers team that is almost certainly much stronger than their opponents today. They could (and arguably should) have won that with the last play of the game. Undeniably, Kyler has been in cracking form overall and they will miss him if he isn't playing, but beyond their star QB they have a dangerous offense with all sorts of weapons.

The predictor has this as Arizona Cardinals 30-15 San Francisco 49ers. It doesn't know that they may not have their franchise quarterback though, but is an indication of how dominant the underlying stats indicate they could be.

The reason I'm still keen to put Arizona up as a bet is that the circa 1.9 odds available seem to assume both that Murray won't play, and also that Colt McCoy (a solid enough, experienced back-up with well over a week to prepare) won't be ready or capable of running this offensive unit effectively. I think these are big assumptions, particularly the latter. With Kyler playing, I'd have expected the Cardinals to be favourites at maybe 1.45, and without him I'd shift this to something like 1.55 or 1.6 at most. The 1.9 just looks wrong to me, and gives more than enough of an edge to make it worth chancing the better team can win anyway.

Reckon the over 19.5 rec yards on Ty Johnson is too low in tonights game, he's gone way over that in the past 2 weeks since White has come in who obviously likes him with 11 targets so far.

49ers are hard to assess because they always have so many injuries, but still sometimes play near their top level despite that.

Duffy - he's had a quiet half but I think he's on 18yds from that one catch. You'll be unlucky not to get on the plus side here. Fingers crossed!

Good Luck with the Cardinals NV. I've layed SF @1.56. Hope you didn't go in too early as the price has moved a hell of a lot over the last few days. Scared

Real shame Aaron Rodgers isn't playing against Kansas. That would of been a great match up. Sad

Ahhh... I went in at Evs (d'oh!) on Thursday morning, and then again at 29/20 and again at a ridiculous 9/5 just before kick off. Hope they hold on for the win for the sake of my nap run, but B365 have already paid out because they've gone 17 pts up! So now it's just for fun. Kind of! CoolGrinCool

Also, obviously hope they hold on for your lay england, although you could almost certainly cash out now for very little loss of return...

And and agreed, can't help but feel a Rodgers-led GBP would be keeping up with KCC today. As things are, I think the defense is going to get tired and it will be hard for them to get back on terms, but not impossible yet...

Arizona were very good today given what they had missing. And Colt McCoy exceeded even my expectations there!

All hail the predictor, it even works when it sides with a team minus their 2 best offensive players Cool
