Patriots - How has it got SO bad?

Yes Sam, their mojo is in Tampa now, and Buffalo are looking the only viable challengers  to KC who look like very solid favourites now

I honestly don't know how they can consistently have drafted so badly. They say that when teams are winning then they should gave more than one eye on the upcoming rebuild, more so in the NFL where the draft is so important. It's now coming home to roost how poorly run they have been. Kraft spending too much time with females of ill repute.

I like their drafting strategy of always playing the long game and trading away this year's picks for better picks next year and trading down. But when it comes to actually making a pick they have been largely terrible. Always trying to be too clever and going with picks that nobody else seemed to be considering (for good reason). Could be worse for them though. It's not like they are tied to many over-inflated contracts like some teams are. For example, the QB situation is quite simple - they have nothing there. They have a stack of cap space next year

I know this season isn't over yet, but from the AFC East the Dolphins look to have the strongest future for me - Escpecially with 4 picks in the first two rounds next year(thanks to Houston they'll be high first rd pick!!). Great season for them so far

Read the other day that they haven't drafted a Pro Bowler since 2013 ( dunno if true ).....don't know how that sits against the rest of the league but for a franchise that's been so successful i found that very surprising....

Not being able to pick any of the Top 25 for years I suppose is inevitably going to catch them up.

Though in 2019 they could have picked McClaurin or Metcalfe but chose a receiver I can't remember the name of.

Only 1 Patriots receiver has had more receiving touchdowns this season than Cam Newton.

In such a pass orientated league, that is truly scary.

Difficult to replace an QB with an arm like Brady, Cam Newton was good at the Panthers, but I never thought he was going to be the star QB that would replace a God!! QB's are only as good as the recievers, Patriots recievers have been poor all season!!

I think BB has probably coached them to a record way beyond what they could/should/might have been this year... it's just a rebuilding phase, and under someone else they could easily have gone 4-12 or worse!
