If they think that the NFL is going to become a mainstream sport in UK, then they are living in cloud cuckoo land. It`s a special interest minority sport in UK and always will be.
..... is it not on council telly? |

Mind it's becoming more and more popular Mightymac....especially among the younger generation
I see stacks of team caps and hats at Football home games i go too....never used to see many at all 15-20 years ago....obviously just my Packers cap and another lad i used to regularly see wearing the same colours. |

It`s definitely more popular in UK now than it has ever been G but still a tiny % of followers on the wider spectrum.
When I started following the game as a kid in the 60s on AFN radio, I never knew anybody else that was interested. 50 years later, it has better tv coverage in UK than it ever has had and I still don`t know anybody else who follows the game. Baseball caps are plentiful indeed now but more of a fashion statement that an affiliation with the team, I think. A guy in the pub wears a Packers hat and when I asked him how he thought they would do this year he said he didn`t even know it was a Green Bay cap. Same with a guy in the chip shop who wore a Dodgers cap, he didn`t even know the LA on front stood for Los Angeles and had never heard of the Dodgers. ![]() ![]() Not the same everywhere I suppose G but that is my experience. Go Pack Go! |

there was a study done a few years ago american football is the fastest growing sport in terms of interest in the UK (albeit from a low base)
pretty much every sport was declining, golf especially soccer flatlining at best also |

I agree 100% wonders.
Bookie shops full of young folk betting football coupons on a Saturday. About two or three punting horses. |

yes horse racing is another in terminal decline
