![]() interested in opposing Houston at 1.4x I make 'em 1.75 so yeah, likely winners but it's a short price. also think Denver are worth supporting at home with CP at 1.6 Denver probably one or two wins poorer than CP this year imo ( 8 wins versus 10). Home field advantage though, so 1.6 isn't justified. Very tough place to go and win, whatever the QB situation. Pick'em for me. 1.8 LA looks big enough to get involved versus SF. |

Best time of the year without doubt. Free Agency, The Draft .... All done ... Let's play football. Week one is the most difficult because the lines have been up for so long. Two that I like this week are Dallas and San Francisco. Despite word coming out of Dallas, I really don't see Romo playing this year, and as a rookie Prescott has one hell of a job on. The optimism of pre season, will give way to harsh reality, however I think that Dallas can ride this wave of optimism to a week one victory. The Giants surprised me by spending big in free agency, but big spending does not always bring success, and as is very often the case, I don't think the Giants got the talent upgrade, the money they have spent, might lead you to think. Their new Head Coach doesn't impress me, and I am with Dallas. In the last game of the first week, I like San Francisco. I am a fan of Jeff Fisher, but I can't help thinking that his time is running out. They traded up to get a QB who could start in week one, and be the face of the franchise in LA. Goff being inactive on Monday night, was not part of the plan. San Francisco are very short of talent on the offensive side of the ball, but play pretty decent defence. I am not a fan of Chip Kelly, but I envisage him targeting games he can realistically win, in a season where San Francisco will often be badly over matched.Monday night I believe, is one of a limited number of opportunities. Good luck chaps, enjoy every minute.

First game back and started already, terrible game management also at end Carolina.Should never have lost that match!
|
|
By:
thought Siemian played okay for a 7th rounder making his first start - good mobility which suits Kubiak's system better than Manning last year. Both Ds very good again.
I don't think Carolina were unlucky (given they missed the FG at the end). With better turnover differential early in the game for Denver (and without the Harris penalty on 4th down) it would never have got to the last kick. |
|
By:
That's what the Panthers defense does however isn't it bigpoppa, force turnovers? Kind of like saying they wouldn't be so good if they weren't really good...
Some of those hits to the head Cam suffered were a bit much IMO. Don't they have rules about targeting? A lot of helmet to helmet hits, very dangerous stuff. If it was Brady would he get a flag or two? Good first game, think Panthers will be right there again this year, looked pretty good in defeat. Benjamin like a new recruit. Broncos will take some beating at home still, see how they go on the road. Great to have the NFL back. |
|
By:
yes agreed to a certain extent but the underthrow from Siemian looked like a Rookie error; more experienced QB is not floating that up whatever Carolina's strengths.
Charles Johnson made a good play on the fumble though. Denver had two redzone turnovers compared to only 5 all season in 2015!. That's a scoreboard killer; and what I was meaning above - I didn't expect them to move the ball so well: more total yards than Carolina and CJ Anderson had a huge night. 145 total yds and 2 TDs. Cam took 4 head shots - but Denver don't get the "dirty" label do they? And how is a headshot on the QB offset with grounding? doesn't feel right, whatever the rules... Was a great game - little bit of everyting. How good (massive) did Kelvin Benjamin look? |
|
By:
Good game to start the season....both teams look to be ones to keep onside.
Gotta be impressed by Siemian making his first start in prime time......unflustered and passing was accurate on the whole. |
|
By:
Thought Carolina got absolutely no decisions all night from officials,The hit Newton took near end which they offset was utterly ridiculous considering the song and dance made over concussion....Panthers were rusty, wasted nearly all timeouts and it cost them.alongside what i deemed a HOMER officiating crew.Still should win game,Gano kick was garbage, not even close, boasting could make one from sixty..AYE right mate..
Newton can handle himself but as Rhino said it shouldnt matter if guy is 6ft5 250-pounds,he is meant too be protected and wasnt. At All.. |
|
By:
agreed in general - although the facemask call on 4th down was huge for Carolina and gave them their final FG attempt. If the crew was cheating I don't suppose that gets called?
I guess it's called Home field Advantage for a reason |
|
By:
Jedi - I think he just over compensated from the kick where he got iced. That one went in, but off the right upright. Unfortunately he drilled the one that counted too far left.
