2, count em, 2 rings. best qb of all time. put brady in his place. no reason he can't go for 3 next year.

i said ages ago denver would win the lot. i backed them before the season started. got a nice crisp 7 grand coming my way when they lift the old lombardi. not even the "free money fred jinx" can alter the course of history. its peytons density! seattles d was wobbling against the 9ers and Krappernick, they cant stop the mighty peytser. put a fork in this one and hail the real true one and only manning. Cool

Seen it all before. When a great offense comes up against a great defense, the great defense always wins.
Report sideshowbob January 23, 2014 9:51 AM GMT
well they cant always win, cos they arent winning this one. there were signs of vulnerability against both the saints and 9ers. no 12th man to come to the rescue this time. they cant live with peyton. even the zebras will want peyton to be crowned king, so they cant cheat like they have done 4 or 5 times in the last 2 years. come in "one game too far" seahawks, your time is up!
Report themightymac January 23, 2014 3:04 PM GMT
Peyton will be dusting his breeches after getting sacked time after time. He has no mobility and he is throwing a lot of wobbly balls this year and will be picked off at least 3 times. Seattle are not just a much stronger defence but they are also a very dirty team. Carroll is a prick and I would love to see them get gubbed, but I just can`t see it.

Manning's a chokemaster. No chance.
Report Roger De Bris January 23, 2014 6:53 PM GMT
Joe Montana. Now there was a qb.

4 rings, you count 'em!! Not one Superbowl Interception and 14 touchdowns.

And all this after being told to retire in 1986 after having back surgery on his discs!!

This is the where the bar is set to be the greatest of all-time.

You have to do it on the biggest stage and Peyton has flopped in the Superbowl before.
Report Roger De Bris January 23, 2014 6:56 PM GMT
typo there Joe had 11 Superbowl tds. Still not bad...Laugh
Report sideshowbob January 25, 2014 6:51 PM GMT
I've got every faith in Peyton finally putting to bed this choker nonsense with 4 or 5 td's against the best d in the league. The broncos offense is better than anything he ever had in indy. I think penalties, lack of home support and a fairly uninspiring offense will make it very hard for the seahawks to win. It's a lot different trying to throw in seattle when you can't hear yourself think, if it was in seattle id agree manning could well get murdered. the relatively quiet super bowl atmosphere favours the broncos massively imo. The weather is a concern though.

with his lack of mobility manning is going to get serious heat from the pass rush time & again. CK has some wheels so he could get out of some sticky situations but peyton is running on the rims these days
Report Roger De Bris January 26, 2014 12:20 AM GMT
love if CK was playing...
Report Wallflower January 26, 2014 1:10 PM GMT
Confused.......but he's not, and neither is Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady and few other better QBs than CK.

...but look on the good side, we won't have to look at Jim Harbaugh's antics.Happy

peytons never been able to run. dont see how thats relevant? obviously it would help if he could run. but then it would help all the QBs who can run, if they could throw like peyton can. all QBs have one or the other, hardly any have both. what peyton and the broncos do well is get the ball out quickly. so he doesnt need to run anywhere. if you have a QB who's main attribute is scrambling, you dont run those quick throw plays much cos that would negate his strengths. manning will get the ball thrown or thrown away.

for seattle to win they have to stop receivers getting open. they cant rely on getting to manning before he has thrown it already. i can see a few offside and roughing the passer penalties keeping broncos drives going, seattle being a little too keen to get to manning.

Denver knows all about Seattle's stifling defence.    I wonder what the over/under is on OMAHA.  To say PM has flopped in the Superbowl, well, I guess I don't understand stats as well as RDB does.  He's 1 and 1 in superbowls.  He threw a late pick in his last one, but had a chance to wipe that miserable moment out if Reggie Wayne didn't drop a gimme.  (If my memory is correct)
The big flaw against PM is his insistence on forcing a pass that he has no business throwing.  If Denver is down late in the game, it's probably time for an INT.  OTOH, how will Wilson deal with the pressure ?  The Denver D knows how to goad a QB into throwing an errant pass.  Just a side note, I have a friend who won super big by betting the Patsies vs Indy.  He figured  that Brady would be more calm and professional then Luck and backed it up with several large,.  He was right, Luck succumbed to the pressure, had 4 picks.

Might be the same here.  How will Wilson react ?  Denver aren't exactly slouches on defense.  Wilson will see some moves in the 4th quarter that will be new to him.  Peyton has seen every move in the book.  Seattle will still get to him, but, OMAHA, there's little Wes Welker, 5 yards off the line running a slant.  Right where he should be.  Just like they've been working on all week.  Seattle knows that too, but those short slant and post passes are so hard to stop because they're one on one.

The game is too close to call.  I think the line is dead on.  BF is a trading site, there will be plenty of chances to win some dough as the game goes on.

i never mentioned "running." i wrote "lack of mobility." he is slow to adjust his feet these days and can't sidestep his way out of a tight spot.
he needs every second his tackles & guards can buy him and
it will be fascinating stuff to see if they can stop the blue marauders jumping all over him. my guess is they better have the running game in top shape Cool

thanks for the news flash clay, who knew??? any updates on Elvis's well being?

just for clarity
Denver are ranked #1 in offence & Seahawks are #8
in defence Seahawks are #1 & broncos 19th

Manning is the worst 'Flat Track Stat Bully' that will ever play the game

Holed up in Indy for years playing inside a dome with an arsenal of weapons each season racking up stat after stat

Goes to Denver , warm climate , weapons on offence most teams could only dream about , doesn't mind racking up the scores in the games as well (funny Pats got sl@gged to high heaven in 07 when they did same) so his stats break all records , stats stats stats thats all he cares about.

Hope his hand drops off in the cold in New York
Report northanlite January 27, 2014 10:15 PM GMT
i think you need to recheck the weather stats for colorado m8. gets damn cold there.

best to have a look at how peyton & the broncos have got on against the top 5 D's when they have met.

oh hold on we can't because they haven't played any of them

"To say PM has flopped in the Superbowl, well, I guess I don't understand stats as well as RDB does.  He's 1 and 1 in superbowls".....

To be put up as the greatest of all-time you need to have led your team to more than 1 super bowl victory, and failing to lead your team to victory on the biggest stage would also qualify you as being "outside" the standard required. Harsh requirements you may say, but we are talking about going up against Joe Montana here. The ultimate winner when you need to deliver the ring, plus mistake-free football over a 4 Super Bowl examination. I only refered to Peyton as a flop when measured against Joe "Cool", but that's what being the greatest of all-time entails. There is no room for errors.

Plus, events so far tonight have merely highlighted Peyton's deficiencies.
Report northanlite February 3, 2014 1:44 AM GMT
i refer you to my point about denver having not faced any top D's. none in top 5 & only 3 in top 10 with 2 losses.
truth is the NFC is far superior to the AFC right now.
San Fran, New Orleans & Carolina would all beat Denver imo. probably Arizona too.
NFC west is crazy strong.
Report Still standing February 3, 2014 9:52 PM GMT
The superbowl is usually won by a strong QB on a strong team.  The game is won by a team.

How about Dan Marino ?  Isn't he in the talk of greatest of all time ?  What's his SB record ?

I never said Manning was the greatest of all time, I wouldn't argue with someone who says he is.  The point is moot. I think he's up there though.  His SB stats are OK, hardly a flop. I would probably put that big SB flop Marino ahead of Manning.

Montana, greatest ever ?  I can't argue with that.

I think Montana is rated better then Marino because he played on better teams.  Maybe the SF GM was more skilled at putting a team together.  Then again, maybe Joe M was better then Dan M at bringing the best out of his team.

If Manning played for Seattle Sunday, and Wilson for Denver, who would have won the SB ?

Back when SF destroyed Denver in the SB, if you swapped Montana and Elway, would SF still have won the game ?

I believe the mantle of greatest ever should be 90 - 10 weighed toward lifetime body of work vs the big game or moment. Others will disagree.  It's just an opinion.
Report The Priest February 4, 2014 8:13 PM GMT
Manning is , has been and always will be a flat track bully who needs weapons galore around him and a O line that gives him plenty of time , Manning must be the least sacked QB ever to play the game , his record in Play Offs and SB's not great when the going gets tough and the good teams start winding up that SB run.

Put Manning on a team with hardly anybody to throw to , a banged up D all season and you would be lucky to get two wins from him.

Worst part of the SB from a Denver point of view was the sheer luck of abject failure that appeared on his face when he was sat down after the Safety, no rallying the troops ,  or geeing himself up etc , just sat there with head down looking beaten , this was after 12 secs of actual play.
