great game, niners had some bad pens against them, I think the best team is going home, best team tonight, seattle just imo.
Report ClayDavis January 20, 2014 3:03 AM GMT
Kaep's interception earlier to Chancelor was awful but I have absolutely no issues with the interception in the end zone. Sometimes you just have to accept that Sherman made an awesome play. He was at full stretch and knocked the ball up in the air. Take my hat off to the guy. And some point Kaep was going to have to have a go.
Whether it was Kaep's fault or not, but why on earth did they stop running him? He was torching them? Barely did it in the second half
Report Wallflower January 20, 2014 3:03 AM GMT
..agree with that, those regular season defeats ultimately cost 49ers........I think they matched-up well against Denver.
Report HARRY22 January 20, 2014 3:06 AM GMT
I wouldn't have put a penny on seattle if it was played in frisco, trophy will be going to lambeau next season if they don't lose 35 players through injury again Happy
Report HARRY22 January 20, 2014 3:06 AM GMT
I would like to see denver win it now.
Report Swagger January 20, 2014 3:06 AM GMT
Some terrible calls by the officials, just embarrassing how they get basic rules wrong in a Sport this big. Sherman behaving like he is on acid or something - classy. It was more a case of the 12 men rather than the 12 man - the non call on roughing the kicker was a huge momentum swinger. Sport normally provides a fitting end which would be Peyton Manning winning his second Superbowl ring in his brothers back yard.
Report HARRY22 January 20, 2014 3:07 AM GMT
I think the niners would roll over denver, not sure about seattle
Report easymoney January 20, 2014 3:10 AM GMT
Karmic balancing after the Zebs performance in Superbowl XV  ?
Report Swagger January 20, 2014 3:11 AM GMT
Yes I would agree with that Harry. I think the 49ers would have matched up well against them - I can only see Peyton Manning winning the Superbowl for the Broncos against that Seattle offence.
Report Colldogg January 20, 2014 3:12 AM GMT
After the game I'm thinking the same as you Harry. For sure the seahawks never won the game tonight, the zebras won it for them. The best team is going home. The roughing the passer call is such a basic rule of football, how can no official make the right call there or not realise their error after the call? And as for the strip on the 1 yard line, well that was just baffling... Worst performance by the zebras since the seahawks v packers last season and again who was the benefited from them decisions again?
Report Swagger January 20, 2014 3:17 AM GMT
It's why it's always best to not get too attached to Sport as when the officials make such poor calls which heavily influences the end result, it makes you think why bother watching it in the first instance! So I just treat it as light entertainment these days.
Report Swagger January 20, 2014 3:19 AM GMT
I'm not even a 49ers fan but they must feel so hard done by. Even in the Superbowl last year against the Ravens they had a great shout for pass interference in the last play but the officials bottled making such a big call.
Report HARRY22 January 20, 2014 3:21 AM GMT
they certainly haven't had the run of the green in the last few seasons, all they can do is keep putting themselves in this position and they will be back next season if they can keep the core of this team and I can only see that defence improving.
Report ClayDavis January 20, 2014 3:22 AM GMT
And the Seahawks scored a TD on the back of the non-roughing the kicker call. And the zebras had a conference about it in the middle of the field and still got the decision wrong.

I thought the 49ers were very poor on the 4th and 7 play. It was only going to be a field goal and they would have still led 17-16, instead they jump offside and their secondary falls asleep. Was such a big momentum swing
Report Swagger January 20, 2014 3:30 AM GMT
The Seahawks were very compact but I always felt the 49ers had it under control until that massive 3rd and 22 (or whatever it was) then the 4th and 7 as you say Clay, as even with the non call on the rougher of the kicker the 49ers had it under control until losing their heads. They must go home thinking how they lost that game tonight. Terrible injury for Bowman, hope he isn't too badly injured although in reality it looked horrific Sad
Report easymoney January 20, 2014 3:30 AM GMT
Nothing like as egregious as the calls the Steelers benefitted from in '05 ....

The missed strip was inexplicably bad but ultimately didn't benefit Seattle cos they gave it back on the next play.  The roughing the kicker was as tame a contact as one could see .... the guy falls in front of him and the punters momentum carries his back leg into the blockers prone body,  there was nothing 'rough' about it.
Report HARRY22 January 20, 2014 3:31 AM GMT
nothing between the two teams, one team has to win and like a lot of games this season, right down to the wire, that could have easily been a crabtree catch and seattle fans would be complaining.
Report startedOct2000stillgoingstrong January 20, 2014 4:35 AM GMT
Considering how many of their top players have been absent this season the Seahawks have done admirably well. Next year they will kick even more butt.

Report HARRY22 January 20, 2014 10:08 PM GMT
I think most people thought the home advantage would be key in this division,no real evidence that it was but probably got them over the line...I said I want denver to win last night, more classy win or lose than seattle and manning deserves more than the 1 ring, I would like to see seattle win for the NFC which has proved is far stronger Grin

canucks last night or canucks at practice v the ducks (9-1) Laugh
Report Roger De Bris January 23, 2014 1:39 AM GMT
Have a look at the last play again.

Vernon Davis one on one with a LB on a quick out left open, and nobody within 15 yards of Quinton Patton in the left flat. Why Kaep decides to force it into Sherman island 25 yards downfield is a mystery.
