Firstly my nap of the weekend is Philly but only if they have something to play for!!! If Dallas beat Washington earlier in the day then the game against the Bears is meaningless for the Eagles and it wouldn't surprise me if they take it easy. So I will await the outcome of the Dallas game. If Dallas win then I will sit out the Philly game.
PANTHERS TO PILE THE PRESSURE ON BLUNDERING BREES Big bet on the Carolina Panthers -3 at 4-5. Brees' record in Carolina is not great. Only once has he thrown 3 TDs in Charlotte and that was in 2007. Plus he has been prone to turnover the ball. Not just in Charlotte but in road games in general. And when Brees doesn't perform the Saints struggle. Thunderstorms are predicted in Charlotte today. This is the nightmare scenario for the Saints. The Panthers are very strong at home and I fully expect them to gain revenge for their loss to the Saints in New Orleans a fortnight ago.
BIG BEN TO BULLDOZE THE PACKERS Big bet on the Pittsburgh Steelers (moneyline) at 11-10. Still no Aaron Rogers and still Matt Flynn in place. Two wins in a row but not convincing one iota. A Cowboys collapse helped them win in Dallas last week and narrow win over the Atlanta Falcons at home. The Steelers are better than the Atlanta Falcons and they have been in good form recently. They absolutely battered the Bengals at home last week. And before that they narrowly lost to the Ravens in Baltimore, a hard place to go. A repeat of any of those performances will see the Steelers take this game and take it quite easily.
CHARLES TO CHARGE AND CUFF THE COLTS Big bet on the Kansas City Chiefs -7 at 10-11. How are the Colts, iffy against the run at the best of times, going to stop Jamaal Charles? He could easily torch them today. Plus this game could easily be a play off game in a few weeks time with the Chiefs traveling to take on the Colts. The Colts have 14 players missing. They have been coping well but have the feeling of an accident waiting to happen. The Chiefs have recovered well from their Denver defeats and have enough incentive to keep putting the pressure on Denver. Whereas the Colts have no real incentive (I know they could be No 2 seeds but it aint happening).
ROMO'S REVENGE AGAINST ROTTEN REDSKINS Big bet on the Dallas Cowboys -3 at 10-11 People will want to stay clear of this game but two reasons drag me in. Romo's record at bouncing back from a disappointing performance over the years is sensational. His QB rating in the game directly after a poor performance is excellent. I fully expect him to bounce back today. Secondly the Redskins secondary is so poor I think Dez Bryant and Jason Witten will run amok. And you could add into the mix that the Cowboys just simply have to win. I know Dallas' D is awful. I will live with that as I expect Romo to outscore the Redskins.
FLACCO TO FLAY THE PATCHED UP PATS Big bet on the Baltimore Ravens (moneyline) at 10-11. I'm not sure this deserves to be a pick em game. The Pats really should be coming in here off the back off two loses but they somehow managed to beat the Cleveland Browns. As I pointed out on MNF the Ravens are on a roll and are playing tough, hard football. They are fit and healthy and starting to get it together. They have a great record against the Pats. They are very strong at home. They have to win tonight. Their confidence is high. What is not to like?
BUFFALO TO BATTER THE FLAKY FINNS Big bet on the Buffalo Bills (moneyline) at 11-10. Ok the Dolphins are not flaky this season but they have a shocking record in Buffalo (especially late in the season) and they are coming off the back of some tough games against Pittsburgh and the Pats. Plus the Bills are strong at home. I know Manuel is missing but is that any great loss? Outside the elites they are much of a muchness. I fancy the Bills to turn over the Finns.
