it's not a defensive game anymore, any sort of hit is flagged, so tough to be a defender in today's NFL

Oakland were 7/13 on 3rd Down and only the Eagles give up more YPG than the Cowboys, so it wasn't a bad job really, SB.
I sometimes wonder get if the NFL is trying to catch up with the conditioning, size, speed, hitting of the players and that feeds into the rise of football as a passing game. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/passing-game-phenomenon-has-grown-over-the-years-091213 |

Because that's how the NFL wants it, they want college football scores because the ADHD generation has no patience for a real game of football, like the one played last night in Baltimore.
I still believe that come the playoffs, defense wins. Look at Manning's playoff record, the Colts didn't have defense, the season when they did show up with a defense that was playing out of their minds, they won the SB. And I also think that the tide is turning a little bit, and these high powered offenses aren't as effective as they once were, I'm sure the numbers won't back me up. But I don't see any teams marching up and down the field all day and scoring at will as was the case a couple of years ago. |

Pretty sure that even that year the Colts were getting run all over until safety Bob Sanders returned for the play offs and they looked a different defence altogether.

True dat, DD. Seattle at 4/1 tells a story.
Although Neil the kicker made the point last night that the Packers won the Super Bowl with a mediocre D. |

Offense wins games - Defense wins Championships.
I hate those NBA scoring type games. Give me a 9-6 defensive battle any day of the week. |

Q. If a defence stacks the box against an Elite RB, who is most likely to benefit, Tight End or Wide Receiver?

I'd sat WR as the TE is likely to be in pass blocking on passing plays and play action plays, if the defense goes 8 in the box.
