The number of teams that hit back to make it a close finish in NFL and in NBA, is just unfathomable in terms of statistics. It's like half the matches in the English Premier League going from 2-0 to 2-2 and then 3-2 in the 90th minute. So you know something is going on, it's just a matter of what.

Depends whether Denver can score again. If they do, it will be tough for New England.

You'd have to say though, if it did not look fixed, if they'd gone tit for tat throughout, a 4 pt lead would not be 1.2s at the moment.

The score flattered Manning. Yes, Denver almost won, but that was 75% turnovers. Peyton is a lousy cold weather player. Clay said on another forum that he plays in Denver, so duh. 40 degrees I don't think is cold. But if it was, 8 - 11 shows he has a problem because his lifetime won loss record, as of week 12 , is 163 - 72, or 69.4 %. ( stats from wikipedia ) Under 40 degrees, he's a bit better then 40 %. There's a problem there. Maybe he can't throw it too well with gloves on. Maybe it's the cold and wind. Against NE he was 19 for 36, 150 yards. Terrible.
His actual record in games played at 40 degrees or lower is actually 10-11, 471-750 (62%) for 5,475yds (32TD, 28INT) with an overall QB rating of 83.5. 2 games were at Home and 19 Away.

Just curious. What qualifies as "my own stats ", and how did the writer at milehighreport use almost the exact same stats in a recent article.
Probably because they are correct and like I, he is a competent sports statistician. "Almost the same" though you state, so he must have got something wrong.

PS. You would be surprised how much money I have made selling "my own stats" to global sports publications over the years, long before the arrival of computers and the internet.
id imagine its a coincidence just cos he plays more cold games away. is his "cold" road record much different to his "non-cold" road record?
plus the strength of opponents comes into it. you could say a soccerball team loses a lot more often when they travel to lancashire than when they travel to yorkshire. but its probably just cos lancashire has better teams! the stat for cold weather games is irrelevant without being able to compare it to other road games at teams of a similar stature.
