seattle are very ordinary but jammy as hell. same last season with that flukey win against the packers. how they get all the luck i'll never know.

unreal,of course they defended well when it mattered but rams as I thought they would came away from what was working,so silly.  The niners came here few weeks ago and destroyed the rams, seattle are one dimensional on offence

i think ive got a good chance on my 9ers division bet. should stuff seattle at home, trouble is the 9ers have a tougher set of games to finish with. no idea wtf happens if the both win the rest. both lost to indy so everything will be level. h2h, division, common games, conference, the lot. christ only knows who wins the division in that scenario.

tell ya now, if the rams had pounded up the middle all 4 downs theyd have gotten it in.

this rams game would have let the niners right back in,losing a division game would have been a bad loss. It will come down to who beats the saints but the niners have to go on the road.

seattle could somehow lose at atlanta or the giants i suppose. the rest are gimmes except the saints at home.

49ers at saints and redskins look the only iffy ones. mind you arizona away last game wont be a formality.

carolina at home isnt an absolute certainly for the 9ers either. though id expect em to win.

Having now had a good 3 hours sleep and time to contemplate the game, I think there is a big over reaction on here.   Obviously Seattle did't play well and harry is right they were one dimensional on offence but their Offensive line is still banged up and their wide receivers havin and rice were injured.   The defense played ok, away from home against a decent divisional rival on back to back road games.   Parallels with the Carolina game, this year they got it done whereas last year they would have lost.

Home advantage still in their hands and now a run of 'nice' games at CenturyLink field.

The Seahawks hold the advantage at the moment but if the division comes down to Strength of Victory tiebreaker, which would realistically only happen if they beat and lose to the exact same teams, then the 49ers would win this tiebreaker because the division would hinge on the records of the non-common teams that they beat.

In this case those teams are:

49ers - Packers & Redskins - combined record of 7-7
Seahawks - Vikings & Giants - combined record of 3-12

The difference between the Redskins & Giants season win totals is unlikely to be enough for the Seahawks to make up for the season win difference between the Packers & Vikings (which is probably only going to get bigger than the current difference of 4) so it is more than probable that the 49ers will win the SoV tiebreaker, if it comes down to this. I can't find one incidence where SoV has ever been used to determine a division winner before as one of 4 other prior tie-breakers was conclusive.

Bottom line is though that if the 49ers win out they will win the division

The above assumes that both teams finish on the exact same record having beaten the exact same teams each

Otherwise one of the other tie-breaks will kick in, most likely common games record

i have a feeling the 49ers have hit their road bump and will finsh top of NFC West

Lets just say niners beat seattle and then they both win out.

you can then skip the first 4 tie breaker rules and look at tie break procedure number 5..........  This is because both have lost to the colts, they have beaten each other and won all division games, so just by doing this the conference tie breaker is also irrelevant as they will win......that brings us to rule 5. (strength of victory). the niners will win this one, very possible this could happen as nobody would be surprised if they both won out, after all seattle are the luckiest team in the NFL..... seattles 2 games on the schedule that are different to the 49ers are (vikings&giants)  niners 2 are (packers&skins)  so niners will win this hands down.

I remember when Seattle were a good team and classy, with this current bunch the two seem mutually exclusive. Not sure it's a great advert for the NFL if a team so repeatedly linked to PEDs wins the bowl either!

How did the Rams lose that game?  Just watched the full game and cannot believe they lost that.  What was the lowest price the Rams went to?

Despite going to the wire, I thought that was a terrible game, not much to take out of it really.
The Seattle 'D' could get them to the Superbowl but the rest of the team will need to step up.

not 100% but I think on 3rd down (final drive) I saw 1.8ish so probably quite a bit lower on 1st down.  That zuerlien miss cost them, the sick thing is the 50 yard miss could have been from 70, he put it clean over the top of the post

I'm not getting too hung up on this at present as I think it very unlikely that BOTH 49ers beat Seahawks AND they both win out.

Seattle have 3 very winnable games (2 at home) before their bye week.  So in a month before their 'big' games they will have O line back. 

Bad news about Sydney rice being out for the season though.

I think we will see a few swings before the end.

I think the 49ers seem to be on a roll at the moment and Seattle have some stiffer tests ahead.

I still think the Packers schedule is easier than all of the other NFC powerhouses but they have slipped up against some of the weaker teams over the past few years so I am cautious.

If they both lose to saints the niners would still win the division, if niners lost to SAINTS and seattle lose to atlanta still the niners, it will only help seattle if niners lose to atlanta and seattle beat saints   then you add up saints giants and vikings (wins)
