TEXANS TO TROUNCE THE RUSTY RAVENS Huge Bet (£30 for Wallflower's purposes) on the Houston Texans moneyline at 5-6
While I expect the Ravens to improve over the next few weeks when they get everyone back on the same page, I think the Texans are an awful match-up for them and I expect Houston to prevail.
Houston absolutely battered Baltimore last season and while home advantage will help the Ravens, they are struggling for form right now. Houston have a hard run of games coming up and they will want to hit them running.
Ravens fall short in most match-ups against Texans defense headlined by defensive lineman J.J. Watt and linebacker Brian Cushing and offense featuring balance between running game split between Arian Foster and Ben Tate and passing game led by QB Matt Schaub.
the Broncos, the Ravens just don't fit that well against the Texans.
Houston won't be as forgiving of the Ravens' shortcomings as the Browns were last week. I make the Texans my bet of week 3.

MEGATRON TO MAUL THE REGRESSIVE REDSKINS Big bet (£20) on Detroit moneyline at 10-11.
Yes, this will be a popular result on the form if the Lions prevail. I tend to agree with most people on the forum that the Skins just need to be opposed. Ok trusting the Lions on the road takes some doing and if there is one team who could mess this up it is Detroit. But the Redskins have been awful in their first two games and the Lions must take advantage.
The Redskins managed to make the Eagles look like world beaters in week one. Both the Chargers and the Chiefs have made the Eagles look ordinary.
Their secondary is just being torched and how they are going to deal with Calvin Johnson (Megatron) is anyone's guess. He could, and should, have a massive game. If he does then the Lions are going to take a lot of stopping.
Will Reggie Bush play? He wants to. His contract is incentive based. He is desperate to play and no wonder. But I think the Lions will make him sit this one out.
The Lions D isn't great either but is RG111 up to the task of exposing it? I'm not convinced. The vast majority of their TDs in the first two weeks have been in garbage time. RG111 doesn't convince me as a pocket QB and with his injuries that is what he has to be at the moment.
My angle is that the Skins will have to score at least 30 points in order to win this game. I don't think they will.

DOLPHINS D TO RIP RYAN TO SHREDS Big bet (£20) on the Dolphins -3 at 21-20
This is where I disagree with the majority on the forum: I think the Dolphins are a cracking bet today. This Dolphins D is for real. Mark my words. And with the Atlanta offensive line so banged up, I can only see constant pressure on Matty Ryan.
In fact the Falcons are pretty banged up all round. Steven Jackson misses out while Sean Weatherspoon and Kroy Biermann are also injured. Everyone has been banging on about Jackson’s injury but Biermann’s is going to be Miami's biggest boost. He is the Falcons’ lone real pass rush threat, and he will be sorely missed.
Expect Tannerhill to have a big game, with Mike Wallace stepping up to the plate like he did last week. The Dolphins' excellent win at the Colts last weekend was massive for them and confidence is high. There is no better time to take on the Falcons and I expect the Dolphins to be 3-0 come Sunday night.

BIG BEN TO BASH THE LUCKY BEARS Big Bet (£20) on the Steelers +3 at 4-5.
Again I disagree with most on the forum. I was very much opposed to the Steelers last Monday in Cincinati but boy were the Steelers unlucky.
They were just getting the better of the argument, with Big Ben just finding his feet, when a massive call went against them and turned the game. Also when Big Ben took control of the offense they looked far better and moved the ball well against a very good Bengals D.
I also fancy the Steelers because I'm not buying into this Bears hype. Jay Cuttler is Jay Cuttler. I hate him. They way he always hooks his head to the side after every play annoys me senseless. Also he is way too overrated.
And how on earth are the Bears 2-0? Outplayed by the Bengals, they managed to fight back late on and sneak it. And a last gasp victory against the Vikings last week when again outplayed for most of the game. The Bears have been massive flattered.
The Steelers were unlucky on Monday. I can see them coming through this massive battle.

THE BILLS' REVIVAL TO CONTINUE IN THE BIG APPLE Big bet (£20) on the Bills +3 at 5-6
Good luck to anyone backing the Jets and Gino Smith. I wouldn't be betting the Jets with counterfeit money. I was laughed at the other week when I said the Bills are improving and I stand by that. I quite like EJ Manuel and I would far rather have him than Gino Smith.
While I accept that the Jets D is very good, I like CJ Spiller and expect him to have a big game. If that is the case then it allows EJ the time to to reply on play action.
If you are backing the Jets you are replying on their D. They could win it for them. Not for me.

>>>>Exactly. I'll bet Cutler has cost him money in the past, a lot of money. Emotion+Gambling = Losing.

I like the other four picks Clay, but I have no idea what you're seeing with the Steelers, they weren't unlucky last week, they were downright awful. The offense has been a shambles since the middle of last season. Also I don't think there is any Bears hype, I don't know anyone who rates them anywhere. But at least you get 3pts. The Steelers have only 1 QB sack so far this year, so I'm not sure where the pressure will come from, again like poor offense and failure to create turnovers this is a long-term trend.

Couple of stats: Bears averaging 27.5 ppg, the Steelers 9.5 ppg. Steelers -4 on turnovers, Bears +1.

It will be interesting to see how a top quality team does in Cincy today.

the Bears are a contender with Marshall imo

They have been scoring points for fun

I've seen too many false dawns with the Bears to win buy in yet. They need to find a way to beat the pack.

Cutler FINALLY has a head coach who understands QBs.  Bears beat a good Cincy team, showed some stuff with the late score against Minny.  Pitts are getting bet on their past glory.  They just may be a bad team this year.  One of the best bets always is a good team vs a dog.  Bears good, Steelers dog.  The low spread is because of fan's emotion.  Like , "the Steelers can't lose 3 in a row "  Wanna bet.  Bears should be 6 points faves IMO.  Like always, I may be wrong, so don't come back with inane quotes showing a loss because I won't come back here and gloat when Chicago wins.  My bet is always the moneyline on faves.

In at 1.83, out at 1.44  It's fairly easy when you don't get greedy.

%^%$##%.  Should have held on for a few more seconds.  But these games can turn around so easily, I'll be happy with a sweet lettle return and watch the rest of the game for fun.

The Texans were the killer for me...they were comfortable until they imploded and never recovered......a real sore one.
Not the best Sunday ever......onwards to next week

We did tell you about the Bears Clay, you took them on for the wrong reasons.

The Texans are **** mate. They've been overrated for years.

I didn't have a good Sunday either, **** in fact.

Packers cost me a 6/1 acca.
