Time to bet like men. Especially on a side who have been owned by the Steelers over the years. We were here last season, on this corresponding fixture, when an on-form Bengal side were expected to roll over a struggling Steelers' side. But the Steelers somehow managed to find a way to win the game fairly comfortably. But that is the only thing the Steelers can hold onto imho: experience and history. On current form the Bengals should win this game without too much trouble. The Steelers were horrible last week against the Titans. And the Titans had gifted them an early Safety as well. They got nothing going on offense and they are desperately missing Heath Miller. Somehow the Bengals managed to lose in Chicago. For the majority of the game they were excellent and were by far the better side. They moved the ball with ease against a very good Bears defense. This is the Bengals time. The Steelers are on the slide, the Ravens have lost key personal. So the Bengals really should be the dominant force in the AFC North this season. Andy Dalton has plenty of weapons at his disposal and if Benjarvis GE gets the running game going, then AJ Green will be a huge deep threat off play action. Not only do I expect the Bengals to win but I expect them to win comfortably. Big Bet on the Bengals -6.5pts for me
P.S For Wallflower: £30 win on Bengals -6.5pts at 10/11
a) When they met last October PIT were -1 road favourites (and won)
b) The line for this game when lines were released pre-season was CIN -1
c) They have only played 1 game each and both lost
These three factors show that a move to -6.5 is a massive over-reaction to a single week 1 game. Granted, the Steelers weren't great, but given the above factors, there is absolutely no way anyone should be on the Bengals here at -6.5
It could well be a blow-out, but -6.5 is a terrible line to be on. In my opinion, you have to either be on PIT +6.5 or pass on the game.

Clay - Everything you state is pretty accurate and I see your viewpoint. Even in the back of my head it could be a blow out, but i'm going with the adage in English football that when you have a derby match, the scores are normally close regardless of where the teams are in the league. For that reason, given this is a divisional match, and the Steelers looked pretty good defensively last week despite their poor offence, I still think the Steelers will have too much pride to get smashed and will keep it close. Pittsburgh to keep within their spread of +6.5 points at evens for me.

As they are saying on Monday Night Football countdown, Big Ben has always relied on a big running game and a great offensive line to enable him to do his pump fakes and scrambling etc etc but he has neither anymore and he has had to become and a drop back and throw quickly QB and he just isn't that and is struggling big time

BE THAT AS IT MAY BUT ARE THE STEELERS THAT BAD IN 1 YEAR THAT THEY'VE GOT THEM AT +6.5?? I'M NOT REALLY COMFORTABLE TAKING THAT NUMBER ON THE BENGALI TIGERS.
STEELERS +6.5 IS A GIFT FROM THE HEAVENS

Steelers went 0/4 in the preseason and beaten by Tennessee at home in Week 1, losing their 2nd most important player Pouncey as well as 2 other starters Foote and Howling all to serious injuries. They already lost former defensive POTY James Harrison in the off season to, you've guessed it, Cincinatti and he'll have a point to prove tonight. I see similar issues for big Ben tonight that Tom Brady raced last week against the Jets, where are Pitts scores gonna come from?
Andy Dalton might not be flashy but he's solid and he sure as hell ain't no rookie Geno Smith and he'll be well helped by the likes of AJ Green tonight who's worth a shout for 1st TD. Bengals are a well balanced side and should have beaten Bears in Soldier Field last week. They've been knocking on the door the last couple of years and have a genuine shot of winning the division this year. Against as poor and depleted a Pittsburgh side as there's been in a long time, tonight may well be the breakout night Andy Dalton and Cincinatti have been searching for. Selection Bengals -6.5

Long way to go and it always takes 5-6 weeks for a team to gel, and to get a "feel" for them, so can't be too premature in judging.
However the Steelers are obviously in decline, and will in all likelihood get beaten here. Just think the Bengals could make enough mistakes to keep the Steelers alive and get jittery in the 4th quarter. Agree with previous poster - Dalton just seems like every pass is "interceptible".
Zero on Bengals for me.....nice green on Steelers. Happy enough to let this ride, not going to make too much this season backing the Bengals at sub 1.2

Dalton's got to get a grip here - he has been wild in the 1st half. You feel a pick coming. Big Ben showing him how it's done. Bengals the better side with better players but Dalton is a liability

Fook, was sure Pitt were gonna do the backdoor cover there, nailbiting finish for spread backers. Nice job Bengals, Dalton got a grip alright in the 2nd half

Disappointing the Steelers didn't cover the spread, the fumble in the first quarter was pretty crucial really as 10-0 compared to 3-7 then the pressure would have really been on the Bengals. Still, agree with d13phe, more encouraging from the Steelers, the Defence again looked pretty good and when they get their injuries back they might have something to offer offensively. The Packers will probably be only bet next week, i would be disappointed if they don't take care the Bengals. Much to my surprise I think the Packers have started the season in very good form and Rogers has barely put a foot wrong so far.

Well done Clay, you get a lot of stick on here but you called the spread correctly. You have good knowledge and it's good for people to have an opinion - nobody gets it right everytime.

Swagger - The Packers secondary, with their injuries, worries me. Kaepernick went to town on them. AJ Green could have a field day. A lot depends on Dalton. But with Benjarvus GE and a great receiving core, The Bengals have a lot of weapons. Dalton has to step up to the plate

I was really looking forward to seeing the Steelers at Wembley (taking my 8 year old to his first game), but last nights Pittsburgh Offence was terrible and I suspect they may try to grind out a win in London :(

I've been telling people the Steelers are no good since the middle of last year, I'm a Steelers fan, I watch every game, this team is awful, especially on offense. Poor o-line, no run game, Miller is essential for Steelers to have success on offense and he is still out. The play-calling is woeful, they sent Cotchery who is the slowest WR on an end around last week. Haley and BR are at war, it's a real mess.
The defense is still good, but it doesn't force turnovers any more.
Tomlin is a cliche spouting clown, his in game management is awful. Tomlin was fine when all that was needed was some rah rah coaching to an elite level talent team, he's been exposed now, scratch below the surface and shades and cliches and there's nothing there.
When a team has been good for a long time, it's hard for bettors to let go of that team and see the current one for what it is, it's the same with the Pats, they're also declining but not as quick or as far.
Long season for the Steelers, i'll guarantee a top 10 pick right now.
