I'll amend next week as part of week 7 update.

I'm only keeping "rough" figure. Clay's doing quite well. I decided to monitor as we all know we have these "tipsters" on most forums - who let everyone know when the "guess" correctly.......and conveniently forget their dismal preceding picks. I expected Clay to the same given a certain "brashness"

in his early predictions. But in fairness I see the logic in the explanation of his picks and I tend to generally agree beforehand (but I'm very much an in-play trader).

Wallflower did something change between week 4 and week 5. It seems that clay's "big bets" seem to have been settled as £30 wins when previously we were working (as your post at the start of the thread).

Amounts as per other thread...(10 medium, 20 big, 30 huge).

This will revise, the week 5 and 6 figures or did we agree to change the terms?

Mmm, could very well be.....I think small was introduced and I may have taken a short-cut

so, it should be 10 = small; 20 = medium; 30 = big; 40 = huge.

I was only keeping it "roughly" as I said - but I've been toying with the idea of just putting into a spreadsheet and doing it exactly. It might be easier - I wasn't really expecting the number of bets.

I'll revise today and re-check entries using a spreadsheet - it will be more efficient in the long run. Thx.

Yes it looks a bit complicated but if we are tracking it we should track it properly. The scoring scale (as agreed at the top of the thread after the level stakes of week 1) were (10 medium, 20 big, 30 huge).

Things look like they got mixed up in Week 4 when Clay introduced an "ENORMOUS" bet (which you then (correctly set at £40). I think we should stick to this agreed scale. I am not sure there has been any small bets has there? If so, working on the original scale this should be £5.

Good luck working it all out wallflower... or better still forget it, probably not worth the hassle.

Yep, all a bit messed-up, got the scoring scale wrong after week 4. I've re-done it from scratch - with agreed scale and exact odds (I've also included a redskins/Eagles overs winning bet that wasn't included originally, didn't bother as I thought it was offset by giving evens for 10/11 shots.

So Clay as per original:-

2 = tiny bet (haven't had any of these, just place holder if you fancy something - e.g. Giants win S'bowl etc)
5 = small bet (logical)
10 = medium/standard bet, or where no indication is given (default)
20 = big bet
30 = huge bet
40 = enormous bet
50 = maximum bet (there has been none, just setting a place-holder for it)

Alternatively you can specify an individual amount e.g. 24, 14, 32 etc

These "amounts" don't matter so much - people have different size banks. The % profit/loss is probably a better indicator.

This improves overall profit to 3.57%....while admittedly modest it does move the graph upwards from 0.34%. Think you were unlucky with the Lions - should have won by more (but you'd had a few close ones go your way too, betting on the spread you have to live with that).

Time to call an audible. Clay was very loud and obnoxious on another thread about hating the Giants, the Giants suck etc, and he vowed to go against them every week. Well, they beat the spread last week and won straight up. Shouldn't that count as a massive massive loss ?

Ok, Clay fair to say we are in a bit of a slump with % profit falling to 1.07% (£965 staked for a return of £10.35). The peak was Week 3 with a 26% return, obviously it will be hard to get back up to those heights as with increased bets the % profit variance will reduce.

Keep doing your own thing (though I'd keep away from the spread unless I genuinely fancied the underdog to win outright) - I did start all of this to expose you as another Morse, but thankfully you're not in that league

, and unless to keep in check any "great tipsters" on here who conveniently manage to forget their previous losing tips.

Still, you are in profit of sorts (remember no commission applied). Time to dig deep.

To add a twist - if you get to 10% profit or above at the end of week 17 - then I'll deem you to be in the Play-offs,and we continue, otherwise you'll be eliminated. I'll agree/make-up the rules with you for the play-offs - and see can you get to the Superbowl?? How about it?

Daryl?? - it is commission free, it has never been included. Also, I never changed the staking plan - I had got it wrong before when I was just keeping track "roughly" - other people pointed it out so I corrected it, re-did it and put it into a spreadsheet accurately.

Well, a very timely good week, £72 profit on the £120 staked.....and moves % profit from the somewhat meagre looking 1.07% at week 9 to a far more respectable 7.59% at week 10 - a total of £82.35 on £1,085 staked.

Best to get this over with for this week. A bit of work to be done to achieve even a 10% profit for the season. Not good, only a half-point save in the 49ers/Saints match prevents a total wipeout. So, last week where a very commendable £70 return lifted the nett to a 7.59% profit has been undone by a £112 loss this week leaving a -2.40% loss for the season to date - -£29.65 for a total of £1,235 staked .

£5 profit this week, and a marginal improvement to -1.83% return from -2.4%.

So 64 bets totalling £1,345 staked for an overall loss of £24.65.......not disasterous but plainly underwhelming.....so far....nothing like a 5-0 finish couldn't fix

Note: At current rates for the regular season you'll stake about £1,900, need approximately about £220 profit by the end of Week 17 to make a 10% profit (about £45 a week from here on in).

Also a winning record in inter-conference games, especially when favouring NFC, though doesn't do this often (enough?).

I enjoy reading Clay's summations to be honest - would never knock anyone that puts up his opinions. I have all but given up to the NFL, too many ropey umpiring decisions week on week, that and of course large dollops of bad luck

Caveat before I get going is I like Pittsburgh tonight anyway, but only having a small investment as the 2 hockey matches look really difficult to predict......

Clay got the first game spot on, which he was well entitled to do as NFC his strong point and Lions have been profitable. Well on the way to getting the second one right too (no chickens counted mind) which again isn't strange - good at inter conference and the Raiders have not been bad for him either.....

Now then, the last game is the AFC match up. AFC teams have generally been unkind, with the Ravens high up the list of teams that have shot the profits. On the other hand Pittburgh are one of the few AFC teams showing a decent return.....

Good luck Clay - I have buttons on and if you are standing to get rich (especially if you have rolled the 3 games up) I wouddn't begrudge you a windfall

Well, and at last, after 17 weeks of pronouncements which undeniably had an element of certainty and weren't lacking, as someone pointed out any bombast

, we have a regular season total. Mind you, they were entertaining in their own right - and I would have agreed with quite a bit of it at times.

A profit of 1.6%. £2,055 nominally staked for a profit of £32.95. 98 bets averaging a stake of £20.96, and an average profit of £0.33.

I had said around week 6 or 7 you'd be eliminated if you didn't get to at least 10% profit by the play-offs - but I'll keep it going for completeness - a "massive" bet on the 49ers on the book to win Superbowl at 9/1.

Clay, I had asked before - but no response, I'll try again - since you said these bets reflected your own actual punting - are you happy with your regular season???

Up to 2.25% return, the highest since Week 10 which stood at 7.59%. 2 wins out of 4, but fair enough as it could have been 3, or could have been zero.

Bank is £48.45, £35.00 (and I suspect some more) of it riding on the 49ers........but seems confident.

Slightly down this week to 1.99% from 2.25% - Chargers was a bit of a killer, but without seeming heartless that's the nature of handicap betting... so tough, you win some of these, you lose some. When I get a chance at the end, I'll tot-up your outright bets versus your handicap betting. Complete guess (and I could be wrong) but I wouldn't be surprised you were 10% down on the handicap - anyway let's see it'll be interesting.

So, £2,225 staked for a 1.99% profit of 44.95.

Looks like the season is riding on one bet at the moment- 49ers to win the Superbowl. Good luck......as I said before - I'm more on your side at this stage

Well, a quarter of one percent profit, 0.27% to be exact. £2,360 staked for a profit of £6.45....a total of 108 bets averaging 21.85 per bet with an average profit of 0.06 per bet. Modest!!

If you don't mind me saying your arch-enemy Seahawks who have cost you £125 since Week 17, have had the last laugh.....sensed
there was an element of stubbornness in your opposition of them, although it was more pro -49ers lately. Didn't do the calculation but a 49ers SB victory may have got you into 10-15% profit mark.

I actually never watched the Superbowl - and through pretty sad circumstances wasn't able to engage much for a couple of weeks.

But anyway the season starts again and before we launch into it, I have one remaining task for 2013 season.

Clay's bets finished at a 1.19% loss. 2,395.00 staked for a loss of 28.55. Not great.
