Who is Brady going to throw to this season ?

Hernandez, Gronk, Vereen, Amendola and possible Lloyd and Sanders back/signed...not like he had better guys to work with pre 07'

Incaseof is correct with all that he states, there is no market for Lloyd....wouldn't be surprised if he returns. They have also added FA Donald Jones from the Bills, more of a depth move but a guy that can extend the field if he sees action.
Bellichek will also have plans for the draft, the position will be of priority. There are no real stand-outs at WR (imo), raw talent - yes, plenty of depth and value to be had in rounds 2-4.

Hernandez and Gronk are showing themselves to be injury prone and must be now considered a 50 - 50 chance on whether they can last a season , Amendola is not in the same league as Welker , Shane Vereen is a running back who they are experimenting with , Lloyd is no certainty to come back which leaves the cupboard mighty bare for Brady to throw to as I said.

Don't expect too much in the Draft , Pats are notorious for not going to the draft for WR's

And for the life of me still can't get my head around releasing Danny Woodhead.

Fair enough concerning the two TE's, though you may have a sleeper on your roster to cover any potential health issues, which of course is speculative at this point.

Shane Veeren has good hands from the backfield: During last seasons limited playing time, Veeren had 15 receptions for 254 yards and 3 touchdowns (avg 16.9). That is more than comparable with Woodhead's 41-458-3 (11.2) record.

Concerning the draft, they have brought in plenty of receivers, unfortunately many have been busts:

2005- n/a (didn't need to address position with Branch and Givens performing)
2006- Chad Jackson (round 2)
2007- n/a (traded for Welker, brought FA's Moss and Stallworth in, Gaffney also present)
2008- n/a (Welker, Moss and Gaffney still present)
2009- Brandon Tate (round 3) & Justin Edelman (round 7)
2010- Taylor Price (round 3)
2011- n/a (rb's required and presence of TE's and Woodhead adding to WR corp)
2012- Jeremy Ebert (round 7)

As I eluded to before, there looks to be depth at the position in this years draft and this being a position of need, at the time of writing, I would forecast that a WR or 2 will be selected.

I hope you are right , the point I was making about the Pats and the draft is that they never try and take a decent WR in the first couple of rounds , in fact really surprised they took one in 09 and 10 in the 3rd rd , but Tate , Price and Ebert all busts really for the Pats , it's just not a position that we seem to do well in draft wise.

The 15 receptions Vereen  had can not be compared to the receptions that Woodhead had , Woodhead was the man who managed to get so many 3 and long drive stopping yards all season.

BB loved him , Brady loved him , The fans loved him and pretty sure he loved the Pats in return , so what they were doing letting this guy go is a complete mystery.

I believe that Woodhead will be an asset at the Chargers and I can see why you are disillusioned. The coaching staff obviously have faith in Veeren to fulfil Woodhead's duties, for a fraction of the wage. It is hard to get any info on the move, one source quoting that an offer was made by the Pats but turned down by DW... though that is unsubstantiated.

It's all conjecture at this point concerning the draft and with Belichek's past history it wouldn't surprise anybody if he trades or brings somebody in off of the street.

Amendola is also a productive guy, I agree that he is a downgrade on Welker at this point, mainly due to his streaky health. However there is upside, Amendola had to put up with trickle down effect of there being no o-line in St Louis. He was also the number one receiver and would have drawn considerable attention. That said, with Gronk, Hernandez (who can be used across the line) and hopefully a deep threat, opposing defences will have plenty on their plate in covering that lot.

i think amendola will do a great job personally at the Pats

i bet Sam Bradford is gutted.

will be looking to pick up amendola in fantasy this year.  reckon he will have a better year than welker

d13phe, I had to trade him away last season , took over a team that had drafted Gabbert and Vince Young! A deep 24 team, keeper league... no other QB talent around so had to trade for Chad Henne to cover Gabbert. Little wonder that the original owner did a runner!
