Has a team ever drifted to a larger price having won their knockout qualification match to progress against an opponent already known beforehand?
On Saturday evening / Sunday morning, Atlanta were trading at 7.8 / 8 to win the Superbowl with San Francisco having beat Green Bay to make them the opponent of Seattle / Atlanta.
On Sunday, the Falcons crashed down to 5 at 27 - 7, and then settled at 6 / 6.2 during New England's victory.
Since then, Atlanta have now drifted to trade at 8.2. A price LARGER than they were before progressing to the NFC Championship game despite the only change being New England's star Tight End being ruled out for the season.
I don't think I've ever been so flabbergasted by any price on a liquid event.

think it was due to the fact that the seahawks were a better team by a mile and the falcons shouldnt have won the game

Agree moaner, it's just plain wrong.
All the focus is on how Atlanta crumbled in the 4th rather than their good play in the 1st. You see it all the time, teams that 'look' the part backed into silly prices. We all know that teams can be great 1 week and sh1te the next. Obviously Kaepernick could blow them away but he also could have a stinker. At 8.2 I'll take my chances. |

Winning badly never does anybody any good in any outright markets and Atlanta definitely won badly last weekend.
However, the remedy is obvious. If you think the price is wrong then you know exactly what to do. |

But the Niners beat the Packers before the Falcons played, so why wasn't their price played in then? As opposed to crashing down all week.
8.2 is spellbinding. Larger than when before they beat Seattle, who accounted for around 10% of the book? At this rate, I expect 8.4 vs New England in the Superbowl. |
