Only 7 games left Sad

Sat 21:30 - Ravens @ Broncos -9.0, 45.5pts
Sun 01:00 - Packers @ 49ers -3.0, 45.0pts
Sun 18:00 - Seahawks @ Falcons -2.5, 45.5pts
Sun 21:30 - Texans @ Patriots -9.0, 48.0pts

At first glance at the spreads etc, Patriots -9.0 is the only one I like. However I am concerned about the fact that they played earlier in the season. IMO (no stats to back this up), teams who met earlier in the season tend to play a closer game in the playoffs than the regular season game. Also the Patriots have only covered the spread once from their last 6 home Playoff games. Sometimes I feel that they are priced up as the 2007 Patriots, even 5 years later, because the Books know that people will bet them at those odds.

anyone any view on MU v LIV tomorrow?

I can see suarez giving united a hard time.....10/11 united at home...tempting but going to sit and watch this one....hoping liverpool turn them over...I stupidly put man city in a 7 team acca for the title...it is looking like they are going to be the only one to let me down Sad

you cant....I think some people are just upset that a guy who has done very well (smith) yet lost his place to a potential star....Harbaugh doesnt have a brady or rodgers...but he has someone who can take off like kaep and change games when the offensive line breaks down or no receivers open...
Report Swardean January 13, 2013 3:53 AM GMT
the question comes again... what is the longevity of these non pocket passers?
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 3:53 AM GMT
looks like I got this one right....they dominated them at lambeau and just as easy tonight....packers never looked like stopping this team.

Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:07 AM GMT
watching this game and the game at lambeau it is fairly safe saying the niners have the packers number...complete domination over this team.
Report ClayDavis January 13, 2013 4:07 AM GMT
McCarthy punted the ball back to them 14 points down - what a clown
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:09 AM GMT
how can you blame it on mcCarthy...how about looking at the talent on the field..sometimes you just have to watch the game without looking at the money in red figures you are about to lose to myself and just say 'this team is just too good for the packers'

dlarssonf did you go with yer heart or head in this one?
Report ClayDavis January 13, 2013 4:10 AM GMT
3rd and 4 in midfield 14 points down. Instead of telling Rogers u have 2 downs to make 4 yards, they take a shot and then punt it. Woeful play calling

Nah have a decent result either way Harry, I just have a soft spot for the packers.  Been a great game to watch though, really enjoyed the seahawks & 49ers this year
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:12 AM GMT
agree they should have ran 2 plays clay and went for it as they havent looked like stopping niners...so mccarthy can be blamed for that call
Report ClayDavis January 13, 2013 4:12 AM GMT
Well, whose fault is it Harry? Would u accept the play calling has been awful tonight?
Report Swardean January 13, 2013 4:13 AM GMT
And that should be that.

See you all tomorrow
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:13 AM GMT
I think a lot of  nfl fans like the packers as a 2nd team
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:14 AM GMT
I would say they shouldnt have punted the ball...they are just being outplayed by the same team who thrashed them earlier in the season..the same team who took the patriots apart in foxboro..when this team is on they are very good
Report Sudoku_Junior January 13, 2013 4:14 AM GMT
Good night all. Fair play to the 49ers here. Packers desperately need defense.
Report Swagger January 13, 2013 4:15 AM GMT
Interesting to know how far spread the flu got within the Packers squad, as it could have been a massive factor for their poor performance tonight. 49ers been by far the better team and deserve the easy win but Packers have been poor, not just because of the 49ers good game in my opinion.
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:16 AM GMT
dlarssonf we may get to see seattle v niners again next week
Report ClayDavis January 13, 2013 4:16 AM GMT
I genuinely thought the Packers would come here tonight and ran slants, screens and quick midfield routes to the best receiving core in the NFL. Yet for most of the 1st half they stick to a pathetic run again that is virtually non existent in the team.
Jordy Nelson has had 3 or 4 catches tonight. Unreal.
Look at the way Brady shredded the Niners when he went hurry up offence, quick throws, quick plays.
If this isn't McCarthy's fault, whose fault is it?
Report incaseof January 13, 2013 4:16 AM GMT
certainly would be a great SB with 49ers vs Pats
Report grayhawk January 13, 2013 4:18 AM GMT
A proper beatdown Sad.....wonder if they put Driver in for a play or two in his last appearance as a Packer

Well done to all Niners backers.
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:18 AM GMT
they have only ran the ball 15 times
Report ClayDavis January 13, 2013 4:19 AM GMT
Let's remember this game should have been happening in Green Bay tonight but the Packers lost to the Vikings after some of the strangest Defensive calls I have ever seen a game. They hardly used Clay Matthews in that Vikings in game. A game they needed to win to lock down the second seed.
Not McCarthy's fault? Who then?
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:20 AM GMT
defence grayhawk...I think most of the packer fans had these worries from week 1....the franchise in good hands with rodgers,,,next season they will be back
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:21 AM GMT
no guarantee they would win at home..homefield overrated
Report incaseof January 13, 2013 4:21 AM GMT
the play calling in passing game been lots of deep routes, expected with those receivers more short stuff, beat man to man with their speed.

It's probably Jennings last game as well...

Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:23 AM GMT
clay any other team and they probably win tonight...this niners team is better simple as that.
Report grayhawk January 13, 2013 4:24 AM GMT
Yeah.. the inability to defend Kaepernick  killed them Harry..... a lot of teams would have had major trouble with him mind Grin
Report Swagger January 13, 2013 4:24 AM GMT
disappointing from the packers, you want to play to your strengths and at least go out with a bang but they never got going, credit has to go to 49ers but the packers never really gave themself a chance starting with the special teams drop. Kaep got picked early but that happens, a drop from a punt is regulation, shouldn't happen
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:24 AM GMT
jennings and aj green would be a nice combo....it will certainly cover up the ever growing weaknesses showing up in daltons game
Report grayhawk January 13, 2013 4:25 AM GMT
Miami?.....sure Philbin would love him.
Report Sudoku_Junior January 13, 2013 4:25 AM GMT
49ers have had the perfect gameplan, keep rodgers off the field. They have dominated time of possession. Whoever they play, will either have to make them chase the game, or stop their run.
Report ClayDavis January 13, 2013 4:26 AM GMT
As they said on the Fox half time show their defending of Kaepernick in the 1st half was a joke. They didn't even have a spy on him for most of it.
but I guess that not McCarthy's fault either?
Report Swagger January 13, 2013 4:27 AM GMT
the packers were awful in the away fixture against the Vikings, they played properly last week but put in the same weak performance tonight as they did a few weeks back against the Vikings. I think these wounds and weaknesses could take a while to heal, other teams in better condition over next few years in my opinion
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:28 AM GMT
you make the game sound so simple clay..run more slants...throw to the best receiver corp....have a spy....it it was that simple you would never have any surprise results...you cant cover all angles on every play...clay I am surprised you didnt go for the niners..you usually go with the favs
Report HARRY22 January 13, 2013 4:29 AM GMT

fantastic performance by the niners

losing to the vikings and losing the number 2 seed cost the packers dearly imo

Kapaernick make so many big plays at the right time- The EEL Laugh

hard to see why the Pats are shorter than the niners for the SB.  I would have the Niners 4/5 at least if they meet in the SB
Report db1974 January 13, 2013 12:02 PM GMT
Pats are shorter cos the market is treating them as already winning the AFC while the 49ers will be either hosting the Seahawks or travelling to Atlanta. I agree that the market is a bit crazy though.
