Apologies, Packers @ Vikings is another match where both teams have something to play for as the Packers need a win to guarantee the No.2 seed while the Vikings are still in the hunt for a wildcard spot

I want to keep my powder dry for the playoffs but I know I'll i'll have a bet on the Skins.
I cannot remember the last time I bet a team that scored first, or held a 10 point lead, college NFL whatever. From sept last year right through to and including the Euros, I was awesome, since then the worst punting run I have ever known - at one point I lost 18 straight two outcome bets, from 1.7 up to 2.2. Tough to go against GB @ home right now, giving points im div games scares me though, I think someone posted that they're generally closer than no div games, and anecdotally at least that rings true. |

Sherman has got off his ban.
Seattles Superbowl price should be a lot lower now. |

The Packers are on the road.

Bless that leaky cup

I said 3 weeks ago he would get off and with Browner back for the playoffs must be a boost to the team.
I think we can beat skins/dallas and we will take it from there |

Redskins will smash the cowpokes. End of thread

No sure about smash but think they win.

Sherman has got off his ban. Seattles Superbowl price should be a lot lower now. Good news for seattle no doubt D13..It doesnt warrant seattle shortening..he is a good corner..plenty better..out of interest did baltimore drift when webb went down...now he is top draw...sherman the better of the 2 for me...imo it is all about the seattle front 7..they are a nightmare this season |
By:
browner the better imo that is
By:
^^^^
Hard to choose, Sherman had the focus this year especially recently bit browner is the quiet man |

If this triceps injury to Justin Smith materialises, 49ers become pretty banged up. He would be a major blow to the defense.
By:
It would be a major blow to them, but they'll probably be better prepared for his loss next time up, things not looking good for SF though, the QB controv is going to affect them down the line, Manningham is done also.
I still say that NE game was little more than a freak, the Pats played their worst half of football (obviously I was on the Pats - 4.5) in decade to hand them that game before we were midway thru the 2nd q. Had they closed out the win efficiently, I might have thought different, but they didn't they got battered for the entire 2nd half. They were in a bad spot in Seattle but they again got battered. They have given up about 80 points in the last 6 quarters. |

I fancy the Packers to cover the spread (-3.5 points) against the Vikings. They are in the ideal position of having an incentive to play hard (2nd place and a bye) but no real pressure as they are already in the post season. The Vikings have all the pressure on their shoulders, Peterson didn't look 100% last week and if he gets a few hard hits early doors then it could hinder his performance. The Packers are going from strength to strength and although they only played the Titans last week they had some joy with their running game which should give them more offensive options. They are getting more and more key players back week by week, i think they will dump the Vikings out of the play offs ans win by at least 8 points, probably more.
Although in theory Baltimore and the Bengals have nothing to play for, i think the Ravens are getting back on track and will enjoy trying out a few offensive options against the Bengals. Similar to the Packers who had no pressure on them last week, i think the Bengals can finally enjoy themselves without having to worry about winning the division. I think the Ravens are the better team and should be favs, they have a great record against the Bengals so have backed them outright at 5/4. On paper this is a silly pick, as it's a divisional match up and the Pats could have several players out, but i just think the Patriots are going to hammer Miami. Looking at the recent record it's normally close which makes the bet even more silly but the Patriots have been poor 2 weeks in a row, and even if the Texans have already won before this match, Brady will want to justify his ego by running the show here going into the play offs after 2 indifferent performances. I think the Pats will cover the spread (-10 points). Finally i fancy the Saints to cover the spread against the Panthers (-5 points). I might have this matchup all wrong but I thought the way the Panthers played last week was almost as though it was their last match of the season which they won at home for their coach etc. They didn't play well and Oakland arguably would have won if they weren't so ill disciplined. They did hammer the Saints earlier this season so perhaps this matchup suits them well or conversely Brees and Co will be looking for revenge. The Saints offence has looked potent in recent weeks and I think Brees will beat Newton in a shoot off. Good luck with your bets |

I think NO are easily the best bad team in the NFL this year. I'd fancy them in the dome, if that's where the game is being played. I wouldn't touch the NE though, you never know BB will come up with in these situations, -10 is a lot here IMO, div games go pretty close, and I don't think the Pats are a dominating team really.
I agree with you about GB. I would squeeze that down to -3.0 though. |
By:
You are right about the Pats DD, it is a silly bet on paper i agree i'm just going with my gut instinct. Will probably pay for it though
. I'm going to lay off some of the bet as i backed them then didn't feel as confident. Of the four bets i was most confident about the Saints but Swardean is a shrewdy and fancies the Panthers which has altered my confidence a bit. Today i am really confident about the Packers and feel it be close for a bit but that they will win this game easily in the end. They have played so much of the season under pressure and with injuries - they have far less pressure on them here and more players coming back, i can only see them winning and i think they will win nicely in the end. |

If I have a bet this weekend it will be GB and then the Skins later. Really need teams with a lot to play for this week I think. One could easily see either NO or Carolina throwing a stinker in, or them both showing up, its just guesswork. Seattle, NO are two places I don't like taking on the home team.
Apparently AP is not 100% either. |
By:
Gronk out for the Pats
By:
Wont be a walk in the park for the pack here imo, Vikings are 6-1 at home.
By:
My points exactly Sudoku, 3.5 is a massive start (if AP is fit)
By:
both teams playing at a high level, going to be a cracking game with lots on the line
i fancy the packers to get over the line and think the handicap is about right. if AP doesnt get the carries though the Vikings could get murdered as Ponder isnt good enough to torch the pack |
By:
is there a BBC game this week?
By:
Nope, no game on BBC
By:
The Ravens can still snatch the 3rd seed if the Dolphins beat the Patriots so they certainly have something to play for
By:
I think this is a case of who has the best QB. AP is the best player in football right now, but 4th quarter in a game that will be tight, do you want Discount Double Check or Christian Ponder on your side?
By:
Discount double check
.....Packers have generally been ok against the run this year bar a four game stretch ( which included the game AP got 200 yards ) a couple of games back when they were missing Matthews and their 2nd best run stuffing lineman C.J.Wilson......they were both big misses against Minnesota first time around and both should play tomorrow.Fancy the Packers. |
By:
will the weather be affecting any of the games? It's bad in some parts of the States
By:
gronk is playing tomorrow apparently
By:
The ravens will be more than happy to finish 4th seed imo regardless of how seeds 1-3 end up being decided.
By:
I think Tennessee are a good solid bet to beat the Jags and the H'cap isn't too punishing either.
By:
Aren't the Bungles and Ravens locked into their spots?
By:
Dirk - Ravens can go 3rd if results go their way. Benglas and colts are locked in.
By:
where do the bengals and colts go in the wild card games? Can the Bengals go to Baltimore or is it New england they are going?
By:
Cheers. Just heard it's reliant on NE losing @ home to the Dolphins. Not sure the Ravens will be taking that possibility as a likely one. It's tricky this last week. I'm gonna stick with GB - 3.0 though.
Trying to find a little wager for the early games. I'm probably gonna regret this, but I'm going to give the punting death that is the Chicago Bears one last chance, they're not great, but Detroit have lost 7 straight, have a very poor defense, nothing to play for, and Stafford throws picks for fun, and Chi earlier on this season had a real ball hawking secondary. Could be Schwartz's last game, and Lions are an unprofessional mess lacking discipline, Lovie's team is at least well-coached. |
By:
Clay - As it stands bengals go to pats, colts go to ravens. Ray rice not expected to play today apparently, Personally think seeds 3 to 6 stay the same, with only the colts putting a spanner in the works for the texans, allowing the broncos to sneak no1.
By:
Very difficult week, think its one to take a chance on the bigger prices straight up, eagles and jags are two what stand out to me.
By:
cheers
By:
Sticking with my Carolina hcap nap on the early games. The +5.5 long gone though and now looking at +4
Will perhaps just watch and pray for a mircale in SF, in the late games |
By:
my prediction is for GB to win by more than a TD. I think the -3 is a gift!
