why have a guy and THEN not play to his strengths? - when they did he did just fine IMHO. He is not the worst out there by any stretch.

Also everyone in the NFL is constantly measured against the top 3 or 4 qb's which is ridiculously harsh.

Well without checking any stats or anything, I would guess that the Jets Defense hasn't been performing as well as in previous years, which means that the Jets are conceding more points than they have been and therefore Sanchez has to throw more than he has in previous games/seasons. Also their run game is also a lot poorer than in previous seasons.

I mean he's nor a good QB but it's not all on him

But not all the Jets players have the massive contract he has.... He is very poor imo

the Jets pass D is 2nd best in NFL and O rushing is 10th, cant complain about that imo

Well yards gained/conceded is only one way of ranking but you are correct anyway.

The Jets Def is ranked 7th Overall in DVOA (6th in Pass, 19th in Rush) and their Rushing Off is ranked 19th in DVOA (Pass is 29th)

Jets receivers ain't up to much either. If Sanchez was based in any other city the expectations wouldn't be anywhere near as high. Jets fans looking across at the G-men picking up trophys must be hard to take.

He stinks the place out,the front office must cut the losses on MS,bring in a new HC and move Ryan to Defensive Coordinator.

Sure the receiving core is very average but MS interceptions to TDs thrown tells the full story..........sad but for the Jets to move forward they may have to take a step back.

I fully expect Tim to be given his chance in the last few games.

They must detest poor Tim, he has attempted 1 pass all season and still has a higher QB rating than Sanchez

McElroy has been named starter for the upcoming Chargers game

Just had a read of http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-triangle/post/_/id/45527/its-time-for-a-jets-intervention

Good read and in summary of the Jets it says...
throw everything away, have a terrible 2013 and rebuild for 2014.

Ridiculous - they are not that bad, plus they would have an empty stadium, I would say some fine tuning is required rather than major surgery.  The thing the Jets suffer from is that they are always trying to build teams through free agency rather than the draft.

think it was 7 Head Coach firings on Monday but Rex Ryan gets to keep his job no doubt along with Mark Sanchez

Rex doesn't have control of that team, he should have been fired, that rah rah stuff only lasts so long.

Rex or Sanchez?
Rex is a good coach, owner is Jets biggest problem..

Tannenbaum is gone though. In fairness to Ryan he is an excellent defensive coach.

The comment about 'rah rah' stuff is very true.  Jerry Glanville was also another in the 'short-term' success mould as the teams he coached.

As a Jets fan it pained me to hear the press conference and subsequent interview on ESPN last week.  Rex Ryan is a shadow of the confident guy who stood before the media for the first time in Jan 2009 when he took over.  Remember not being able to wait 8 months until the first game and my optimism being justified when he took us straight to the AFC Championship game in that first season.

This time around, I'm just writing off 2013 in my head and looking at the medium term, wondering who the next coach will be (which is interesting now that Bill Cowher has stated he'll coach again some day!!)
