What an amazing experience, the match was awesome While I envy the fact that you got to go to a match, awesome is not a word I would have used for that particular game. Did you boo Sanchez with the rest of NY! |

A lot of people kept shouting things towards sanchez, I didn't even know who he was, they never done match programmes like the football here so I didn't have a clue who anyone was ... I still thought the game was awesome, the stadiums erupted every time the cardinals were on 3rd down which I found pretty weird, a stadium cheering when nothing has been scored ... am dying to go to another game now, maybe go see my fav team, the bengals next

Las Vegas, New York. How much did the Yankee jersey set you back ? Sounds like a nice trip. Did you really enjoy the game, or the experience. Been to a few games, and the atmosphere is always exciting, but the best place to watch a game, IMO, is at home in front of a big screen. You see all the plays, all the replays. Blink at a live game, and you miss something. But the fans, tailgating, having a beer or two, maybe going to a local place after the game, is a great time.

$160 for the yankee top, although I bought that two years ago ... so expensive !! This year I bought the home and away shirts for the New York Red Bulls, they were $90 each, also a jets scarf which was $25.
I really enjoyed the game, it was only 0-3 at HT so it was close all the way, I had never watched a full game live, and on TV it's just advert after advert so you wanna turn the channel, but at the game you just watch, I enjoyed the experience and the game, so much so I wanna watch another ... I could not believe the tailgating, that was unreal !! BBQ's everywhere, big bonfires in the carparks, people with flatscreens in the back of their vans ... amazing scenes. Most people just stay in the carparks for a few hours after the game and make food, it's like a hige party in the carparks after, incredible ... you don't see that after a Man Utd game lol |

Fantastic experience. Sounds like everything lived up to your expectations, which isn't always the case. Also, time to get on the soapbox; you interacted with some real Yanks, not the cardboard plastic types on TV, and not the gun toting slime. People just having fun without the drama. Most Americans are great people like the diehards you saw tailgating, it's a shame the whole place gets a bad rap for the extremes. Law biding Americans are nice people. Too bad about their government policies.

My expectations were that I would walk out after the 1st quarter being totally bored, an boy was I wrong, I was glued to my seat lol ... I was talking to stewards, cops, fans, it was brilliant, I went on my won but it was fun, everyone was chatty and nice to me ... I got pulled up for taking photos though, they asked if I was making a video, I said no. I also wasn't allowed to take a tri-pod into the stadium, which is disappointing, far too much security that is not needed. As soon as I got in they were selling flags attatched to a pole, could easily use the pole as a weapon couldn't you ... imagine it's the same at every stadium

NICE 1 ... WISH I COULD DO THAT 1 DAY ??? Why only wish? You seem to win thousands upon thousands like the rest of the tennis forum yet nobody seems to spend money on travelling etc... I have often posed this question to the multi millionaires of the forum with no reply ![]() |

I won about £500 in the last 2 months running up to my trip, so that paid for my ticket for the game, my ticket for Yankee Stadium, my two NY Red Bulls shirts, my jets scarf, my $50 of expenses on food and drink ... it's $10 for a bottle of beer !! $15 for a steak sandwich, thats £10 ... am deffo gonna go again, I think going to a lot of the American Football stadiums would be really good to experience !! Do it guys, at least get one done ... you could end up ill, or anything at all could happen meaning you would never go, am just glad Ive done it now :) Need to experience the other sports now, baseball, ice hockey, basketball and even an MLS match in the states. They certainly know how to put on a show :)

Glad you enjoyed it schalke.
A few years ago we went to see Giants v Cowboys on a monday night, finished 32-35. Best event I've ever been to. Try a basketball match, almost as good. |

Sounds a fantastic trip Schalke , well done mate
![]() Attended a couple of Giants home games over the years & both unforgettable experiences , the ultimate for me was visiting the old Penguins igloo for a play-off game a few years ago , unreal atmosphere ![]() If the player lockout situation isn't resolved in the new year then i'll probably do a Knicks game for the first time in early Feb. Good luck guys ![]() |

(1) Being an Eagles would like to get to Philly and BBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Hopefully soon. after that....the stadiums I'd like to go to for a match are..... (2) Buffalo or Green Bay in the freezing cold ![]() . Don't ask me why?(3) Seems to be good atmosphere in Baltimore (4) Jets seems good as well (5) Steelers and their towels (6) Believe Kansas is good, deserve a better team (7) Seattle deserves a mention too |

PS .. PEOPLE CHOOSE TO SPEND MONEY IN A PLETHORA OF WAYS AND WHAT MAKES YOU SO SURE PEOPLE DONT USE THAT MONEY TO TRAVEL. ITS A BIT OF A SILLY QUESTION IF YOU ASK ME

Unlucky, if you went week later you could watched superbowl winning ny giants
|

By:
No offence bean but it smells of bullshit...you could pop over to the states for 2 days to watch a game..load of bollox..
|
|
By:
You are on here every sunday night...take the night off and take a flight to the states..simple as that...as goose from top gun once said (cough) bullshittttt)

COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT .. ITS NOT A CASE OF I CAN'T SOME PEOPLE JUST DONT HAVE TIME. BEING HERE FOR A FEW HOURS EVERY SUNDAY DOESN'T EQUATE TO ACTUALLY GOING ABROAD. IF I WANNA GO AMERICA I THINK I'D BE GOING FOR MORE THAN 2 DAYS. IT REALLY DOESN'T BOTHER ME IF YOU THINK ITS BULLSHIT BUT EACH TO THEIR OWN

Well done Shalke. Been to a couple myself - one at Wembley, one in Boston (when I used to live over there). Fantastic, and whilst a previous poster is correct that it's easier / more comfortable to watch in front of the box, being there and actually sampling the atmosphere is irreplacable. It's certainly an experience. Recommended to any (I can imagine how wound up those NY'ers get at Sanchez lol - ooops, sorry New Jersey'ers I meant ;-) )

I'm deffo going to go over and try see a few more, the problem is that all the matches are pretty much over 2 days, so if you went longer it would be to do stadium tours or you could mix it in with some basketball ... baseball season is over but as when I was at yankees they were using the stadium for american football.

great work Schalke. glad you enjoyed it. New York is a great place to be a football fan. I lived and worked there 2007-09 and was lucky enough to go to see the Giants fairly regularly. went to a couple of jets games too but didnt enjoy them as much as thought their fans were often rude and just outright dicks. Giants are my team though so could be i was being a harsh on them. the tailgates were amazing, great fun, especially early on in the season before it got too cold. ive not been since they moved to the new stadium but hear its impressive.
id like to go to some of the stadiums in the southern states. a mate of mine is works in Houston and says that when it gets too hot in the stadium they close the roof and whack on the aircon!! |

Dude
They have shops called Goodwill. You can get second hand tops for between $3-$10 Dollars! I've been to Oakland and Denver. Different world, not like Football ( soccer! ). Glad you enjoyed it. Sanitised sport. I shall be in Wisconsin between 23rd Dec and 9th Jan. Does anybody know how I can get a Packers ticket? |
