Get in Portland. Unders looks safe aswell. Probably my best ever day on the punt. It could of been so much better aswell. Steelers beat themselves this morning.  As HARRY stated with 3 big injuries for the Steelers, they still should have taken this game at least into OT.  Steelers should have switched QB to Charlie in the last 5 mins.  Leftwich couldn't throw the ball due to a rib injury.  The 2 timeouts cost them as well.

Steelers should forget about getting Ben back for next weekend against the Browns and try to get him into some sort of playable condition for the road trip the following week against the Ravens. That's assuming they still have designs on the NFC North.

If they have already written the NFC North off then they are as well leaving Ben as long as it takes to get fit because there's no way they aren't making the Playoffs anyway. There's only 6 teams with a winning record in the AFC (and one on 5-5) which is shocking, the NFC has 8 teams with winning records and 2 on 5-5.

I'd suggest 2 weeks is going to be too soon for Ben.  The biggest danger to the Steeler's season is that he rushes back before the rib is fully healed and has a recurrance.  That would certainly be the end of their Superbowl hopes and could be very serious for him personally.  Tomlin needs to protect him and prepare to sit him till a week or two before the playoffs if necessary.  If they aren't good enough to get a wild card without him then they aren't going to do anything in the playoffs anyway

Ravens are the correct price for me, they are nothing special and Flacco isn't a great qb imo.

David Garrard might be available for the Steelers. He may have been the starter at Miami this season but got injured in camp (recently cleared to play by doctors). Probably more suited to Haley's offense than Leftwich

d13 - Leftwich should NOT have been out in the 4th Quarter.  Batch should have come in.  This is were I believe the Steelers beat themselves.  Tomlin should have made the switch.  Byran couldn't throw the ball more than 10 yrds.

I'll say it again Tomlin beat the Steelers last nite by continuing to play Leftwich when the whole world could see he was injured. Ravens did NOT play a conservative game last nite.  The Ravens were BRUTAL.  They couldn't move the ball at all.  There first 2 scores were mistakes by the Steelers.

HARRY - I don't know about not being in trouble.  This was only a 3 point game. I just feel that it was not as comfortable for the Ravens.  U could tell that by Harbaugh's body language.  Ray Rice was their only man running with the ball.  I feel even without Ben the Steelers had a BIG chance last nite.  By keeping an injured QB on was a massive mistake by Tomlin.  Batch must be a goat?

I didn't bet on the match but also thought the Ravens were poor last night. The Steelers would have cruised it with Big Ben in my opinion, the stand in quarterback had several opportunities to make a play and they came very close a few times whereas the Ravens never really looked like scoring a touchdown aside from a return. I have to disagree with you Harry on one point as surely the Ravens would have wanted to have scored a touchdown to put the game out of reach of the Steelers. For example, had the Steelers have changed their QB for the last quarter, especially in the last 2 mins then, I think they would have made a play to at least take it to overtime or even get a touchdown and win given how close it was. There was one play in the last minute I remember where the Steelers QB just had to make a regulation long throw down the field and it would have resulted in a field goal at the very least or even been a touchdown to win the match but he was throwing the ball with broken ribs! I sort of agree with Harry that there was a period in the middle of the match where the Ravens where managing the score and the Steelers couldn't get much going forward but the Steelers still looked dangerous on a few occasions and I don't understand why the Ravens would chance just having a 3 point lead until the finish if they could have easily stepped up their game why didn't they? I think the Steelers Defence basically owned the Ravens offence and they struggled to get anything going as a result.

I don't pretend to know anywhere near as much as anyone on here as i've only recently started to watch American football but i'm a good judge of sport generally. From what I have seen the Falcons are a very good side but won't be good enough to win the SB. In my opinion Baltimore will eventually get found out regardless of their seeding in the play offs - I agree with DD I haven't been impressed by them and don't understand why people get excited by their price. They might have an easy run-in and be seeded # 1 and everything else but eventually they will surely have to play a strong experienced team who knows how to win the SB and will be exposed in my view. I don't see the Giants winning it back to back, I think the Texans are a very good side like the Falcons but again I think they will come up short against a side like the Packers, Patriots etc.

I was disappointed with Dallas last week. I thought they could make a rush for the playoffs but it looks fanciful given recent form although I think they will beat Washington this week where most people will be looking for an upset. The Saints have been very impressive in recent weeks but might have left it too late.

The injury to Big Ben is such a loss as I thought the Steelers had a great shot at the superbowl with him leading the way.

The one fancied side i haven't seen much of is the 49er's so I look forward to seeing them over the next few weeks.

The Ravens have two of their best Ds injured but are still finding ways to win games.

The last few years has shown us that not always the prettiest team to watch win the Superbowl.

It is all about getting into the playoffs.  then when you get into the playoffs taking opportunities.

The Ravens have an outstanding record at home and I agree that the Packers/Pats and probably the 49ers are better teams but that Ravens team finds a way to win almost all the time.  Just look at their record at home over the past few years.

Bit of as non game now, the div is locked up and the Steelers will be starting Charlie Brown. Rats will walk this, and I think they'll cover too. Doesn't matter really, Steelers need to go 4-0  or 3-1 to make a WC and much like last season the o-line is way too banged up to progress far, the Ravens and average Joe will once again fall flat on their faces in January.

I think this is the wise decision really...thought they should have played ben but even with ben playing ravens are so touch to beat at home...get ben back and they can win out after baltimore game..

There is a huge gulf in class on defense, the Steelers STILL, despite what Warren Sapp says every year, have the best defense, the Ravens D is shadow of what it was. With everyone on both teams at 100%, the Steelers are the better team, no doubt at all. I'm really hoping for round 3, with BR at QB vs Average Joe.
