What is the format for the Cavalier League now that it's 16 teams

I was thinking the same thing..it means some unlucky manager will end up with tebow lol

It's a regular head to head points league. It's the same format as the previous 8 years.

So it's:
2 matches against each team in your division (6 matches)
1 match against each other team in your conference* (4 matches)
1 match against a team in the other conference (1 match)

Conferences are East-West & North-South

also 2-1 having lost 1st week...each week I have scored over 80 pts so that kind of consistent scoring should see me in the hunt if nothing happens to my RBs

Saints should have got 4 points instead of 6. Looking at the scoring breakdown they got -3 points for yards conceded (400-450) when they should have got -5 for conceding 467 yards :p

actually, I've checked how they work it out. The negative yards from the sacks comes off the total yardage. Unfortunately I have from that final stupid play from rivers where he got sacked AND fumbled

Trading Sproles for Fred Jackson

I gave up Jackson in the trade. He hasn't looked the same player this year, and the timeshare situation with CJ looks likely to stay which won't help his production.

Not sure Sproles will live up to his draft expectation either tho, but I think he's probably got a lower downside and a higher upside this season (cue a career game for Jackson in week 6....)

I was only jesting.  Thought there would be a bit more banter around the league

i like Sproles but now that I have Mendenhall and Forte back so wanted someone with a bit more upside.

I also think that Brees has so many weapons he can call on now. 

We will see anyway.  Big game for me this week to have apsirations of playoffs

7 players tied for 3rd on 4-3 in the Cavalier League with another 3 players just a game behind on 3-4 (2 guys leading the way on 6-1)

6 of the 7 teams on 4-3 are actually playing each other this weekend while the other one takes on one of the 6-1 teams

There's going to be some scramble for the last couple of playoff spots

Excuse me for hijacking the thread. I would just like to hear some thoughts concerning a possible trade. Thanks in advance.

It is a deep, 24 team dynasty league (20 keepers), focused on the defensive side of the game.

I claimed Alfred Morris during pre-season, he has proved an excellent value addition to a roster that I had just taken over. I had inherited Gabbert and a less than talented squad... no wonder the previous owner departed! After weeks of trading I had acquired Dalton and many future draft picks, getting rid of the dead wood in the process, I had initially accepted that the season was to be a transitional one. However, after five games I had a record of 4-1, I traded for several players that would give me a shot at the playoffs. Unfortunately owner error and injuries have sidetracked that project and I am now 4-3 with every chance of going to .500 this week.
I have just received an offer for Morris, whom I rate highly at the time of writing and going forward. The offer looks fair, but it is obviously hard to equate, as we really have no idea of Morris's ceiling, performance wise?!

Here is the proposed trade, feel free to give your thoughts:

Team A gets
Rashard Mendenhall RB PIT (rank: 76-623)
2013 2nd round pick #1 (25th overall)
2015 2nd round pick #1 (25th overall)

Team B gets
Alfred Morris RB WAS (rank: 6-42)

I'm also aware of Mendenhall's fragile status, though he looked good on his comeback and his current injury is not to his previously afflicted knee.
The future picks help to offset any potential issue with Mendenhall.

I would be all over that trade

especially with the fact that when Mendenhall comes back he will be always be the feature back at Pittsburgh

Not that it'll likely make much difference but which 2 of the following 3 would you guys start for this week?

1. Hakeem Nicks
2. Brian Hartline
3. Cecil Shorts

It may seem a no brainer but Nicks hasn't really performed all season (apart from 1 game) due to nagging injuries. Hartline is inconsistent and Shorts looks to be the main WR this week but Jags have QB concerns....

If Laurent Robinson doesn't go, I'd think about Shorts, but you're hoping he breaks off a big play and that makes it a reach.

So I have scraped into the Playoffs by a whopping 7 points over the 9th place finisher and will now face the No.1 seed in the Cavalier League in the first round, South Park Cows, who gave me an unmerciful beating earlier in the season.

Sadly, thanks to some untimely injuries (Antonio Brown, Julio Jones, and now Willis McGahee) and poor decision making (eg throwing Marcedes Lewis to the scrapheap having suffered him for 4 weeks and then he has a 2 Touchdown day the ****)

I am 10-1 and in the other league but may chances of winning the playoffs faded when Gronk broke his arm

Daft question time.... What format do the play-offs take?  I was expecting straight knock out from now on but there's only 8 of us left and a knock out would only take 3 weeks to get a winner.   Can someone give me a clue?

The fantasy playoffs are a knockout competition.

The reason we finish our season before the NFL finish theirs is so that fantasy teams aren't affected by rested players, or players who are pulled early in meaningless games, as NFL teams prepare for the post-season.

Well done to South Park Cows who won the Cavalier II League beating Mobot in the final. Good to see the No.1 and No.2 seeds reaching the final (in my absence obviously)

I have to say I found the 16-team format very tough with injuries playing a bigger role than normal as there is very very little talent left on the benches once an important player goes down.

Thanks to orioles for running the show and I am already looking forward to next year's competition

How did the Bulldogs League finish up?

They finish next week (don't ask!)

Next year we'll see if we can't cap leagues at 12 teams - but everyone will still get a place.

No worries orioles. I'm very curious about the Bulldog League now though!

Hindsight is 20:20 vision but if the Bulldog draft had been delayed for another week we probably could have had 2 x 14-team leagues. There seemed to be a lot of stragglers this season, all of whom were put into the Cavalier League because the Bulldog one had already drafted at that stage.

It's at this time of the season, when I have no interest in picking a team as they are dead in the water (well to be brutally honest they have been dead since week 7 and its all the coach's fault!), that I propose I big vote of thanks to Uncle O for being the organiser supreme. Cheers O

Yeah, I filled up a league (they have a max on ESPN) and then as people came along, I had to start another. I'll time it better next year.

I'm in the final in the Bulldogs League as the #1 seed but im without MJFD and Harvin for the last 6 weeks.

I face the evil Mr O in the semis of the ron Nasty auction league...again i have scraped in without Harvin or MJD  who i spent have my budget on.

I have won 9 weeks in a row and scored the highest score of all in the playoffs, yet i feel quite lucky in that i have scored low in the last games and met 2 teams having an off day.
