Not upto reviewing other peoples teams so will do my own
Before the draft i came up with a cunning plan , i was going to spend 240 on Batting , then buy a collection of next in line closers (12 of them( for peanuts and forget about starting pitchers. Then in second half trade for a couple to reach the 1000 pitching limit.
When i saw the price relievers were going for had to change plans

so ended up spending 241 on batting , almost exactly according to plan , with no real weaknesses in any position and a good mix of power and speed.
Idrafted all those before taking any pitchers at all , and tbh i was worried , especially as pitching had been expensive. However at around the time i began looking for pitching everyone started running out of money and bargains began to surface

so paid only 21 dollars for a servicable rotation , everyone of them has upside potential and are likely to outdo their stats from last year
Now for the bad part . Closers were going for ridiculous prices , especially as many wont even last the season, refused to get involved and added a few potential savers for later in the season

Very happy with it (until wake up and see someone out for season) Took a big risk spending so little on pitching , but think i acquired 60 dollars worth for 40 so a good result.

spot deliberate mistake ... it was 240 on batting 40 on pitching and bench
ffs (it late) 220 on batting 40 on pitching (need edit button)
Nice team, big bats which should stand you in good stead. If your rotation performs even slightly better than expected you'll be a contender.
MY TEAM REVIEW
I had spent the best part of Saturday developing a strategy of taking 8 or 9 players in the $20 range in the hope that 3 or 4 of them would improve on their rankings making them decent value keepers for next 4 years. However the rule change 2 hours before draft time made that strategy almost pointless so i went with the 'start and scrubs' method

Lillibridge has already gone, v mart is on the dl all year, miggy and hanlley will both be 3b eligable in 2 or 3 weeks, crawford was a first rounder last year so the potential to get back to that is obviously there. Heyward was a top 50 pick last time out so could get back to that level. If things are not looking good well into the season and i still have my big buys i can always trade them away for potential keepers, something like pujols for rasmus.

Braun and Stanton kept me entertained, didn't make a difference. Overall OK draft,

Lots of trading happening already , looks like people concentrating on the auction league , not much activity in the vets league

I came into the draft wanting 3 players and then attempting to build my team around them: AGonz, Beltre and J.Upton. I wasnt going to back down on Upton and was glad to just spend 48 lol! AGonz went for 49 in the end and it was just a bit too much for me. i love my hitting tbh. Adam Dunn could be a big bounceback, Encarnacion is a solid power hitter is healthy and Carlos lee is proven. If Alex Gordon can push on a bit, this team can challenge in most areas apart from SBs. Hate my Shortstop though and im hoping that Stephen Drew comes back asap.

I gained 3 closers and after seeing what Z managed to achieve towards the end of the draft I have hugely overpaid! I only spent 70 dollars on pitching but i think I got quite a bit for my money. Bumgarner was immense for me last year and I expect him to do the same this year. Hes a great anchor.
The rest are all gambles: Liriano got my attention with his spring numbers, Jurrjens was an ace for parts of last year. RADickey was solid and has the word "****" in his name. Zambrano is mental....
I did get caught up in the whole "keeper" aspect with a few picks, namely Rizzo and pomeranz but i feel good about this year. Much more so than my Snake Draft. That team is **** but tbh i really dont enjoy doing snake drafts anymore!

I went into the draft thinking it will be a shambles, but about 2.40 into it I realized that unless uncle O sends hitmen to take out at least 4 of my batters, I've won the league.

Little Jerry Team Review
With an early target of provoking a brain aneurysm in Ron, things started quite well on draft day.
My luck didn't hold.
I had problems with my Amstrad and so decided to target guys who were perhaps 'under the radar' - so much so, that many of my team are listed as clinically dead.
Luckily, I snapped up Andrew Bailey to carry off the Saves category. On hearing who had drafted him, Bailey voluntarily went on the 60 day DL, until 2020.
I am underpowered, and lack speed and talent and my team is no better. My great trade bargaining chip is the peerless Scott Baker.
He went on the DL three days ago.
At least the Orioles won't let me down.

Think we should of gone quality starts instead of wins.
So annoying watching your pitcher throw eight innings , with ten strikeouts , then leaving , only for the other goons to blow a 4 1 lead.
Dosent seem right to get no reward simply because the pitchers that followed messed up

And the closer that blew that lead was Chris perez. Who I own in both leagues! Nice!
I'm all for QS ....i also think we should be doing K-BB .... a step too far I think !
I'm out to 1.15 to win the league after losing Ells for two months. All that's needed now is Rollins, Aram & A rod to go down for a month or two and I may end up 2nd!
