Hasn't gregg Williams been more or less banned from the sport? Suspended without pay indefinitely.
It seems harsh but it cost me a fortune when they knocked Farve about without any real penalty so I'm not unhappy about it Never liked the saints. Some of the hits Vilma did (he surely won't play again) have been sickening |

No first or second this year....no head coach who is ingrained in everything Brees does.
Brees still hasn't signed and has said he won't sign the franchise tender......GM want's to hurry up and get that sorted before he's suspended  Will Brees want to sign a long term deal now when he doesn't even know if Payton is returning. Personally couldn't be backing them @ 32 |

Seems very harsh. I wonder if there is an appeal process? If not, I think Brees will go. No way he's going to waste a year of his career at the age of 33. With his dodgy shoulder, he's prob only got about 4 years left max.
Saints can forget the playoffs for at least 2-3 years, and that's IF they keep Brees. Otherwise they will be waiting a long long time before they challenge again. |

The league knew they were playing dirty at the time and did nothing. Blind man with a stick could have seen that, the number of late hits they were putting in against the Cards & Vikes.

I just heard the pre match address that Greg Williams gave them before the 49ers playoff game which has been released over here (not sure if you guys have heard this). Thought I would check this forum to see the comments as I don't normally view the American forum.
I have never heard anything like that at the elite sports level, some of the things said were astonishingly bad. They should all get life, in fact after hearing that it would not be too much to boot them from the NFL all together for 12 months. Hopefully someone will get to Williams personally and sort him out, maybe he should be locked in a room with Frank Gore and let them sort it out as men after what he said about him. Payton should never be allowed to coach again, it was happening on his watch and for him to allow it (and no doubt endorse it) means he must be removed fom the game forever. Maybe our culture is so different to those scumbags that I am overreacting, but that audio I heard was impossible to comprehend |

Couldn't agree more, Aussie. It was revolting.
I thought Goodell had got it about right, but that audio is disturbing and has no place in sports, no matter how tough the game, or the player, or how great the will to win. Williams and Payton should never coach again. |
