I should start this review by saying that i have an extreme apathy towards starting pitching brought on by too much time in the #boc. So keep that in mind when reading.  This will also be quite short compared to the other reviews, because i have better things to do, just.

THE MACKINAW PEACHES JERRY, THE MACKINAW PEACHES

Dare i say it, i think this is a decent team. Strong pitching although only 1 sure closer. Took Teixera and Victorino just before i would have done so batting can’t be terrible.   Escobar was a good very late pick but this team is docked a half a grade for taking 2 catchers.  Also noticeable there are no Baltimore players on this time.  GRADE:  B-

HALLADAY IS A PHILLIES

Solid team which is what is expected from Kiester, but filled with some risk.  Will Joey bats finally get found out? Can Zimmerman stay healthy? Is Jennings for real?  Auto drafting the first few rounds didn’t help but a solid recovery.  GRADE B
I am now fed up with this, so reviews will be even shorter

LIPPY LIONS

Projected to be top, f**k knows how. Batting looks terrible apart from Longoria who may or may not bounce back from a poor season. SP is good but only 1 closer.  I think Lippy must still have been SEETHING at the Black Caps while he drafted this.  GRADE: D

CARLITO BRIGANTE

Not bad, but not great either, solidly in the middle of the pack. GRADE: C+

THUNDER CATS

Same again, although a few dodgy decisions after the first 2 rounds will cost this team a shot at glory. Half a grade for having the cutest team photo GRADE:  C+
CURVE BALL YOUR ENTHUSIASM
I wish i could say it’s a pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty pretty, pretty good, but i can’t.   Bonifacio taken about 5 rounds early.  GRADE: E

WINNING FURCAL

I quite like this team, only 1 closer but a nice balance. GRADE: B

ARTFUL DODGERS

Decent, god i’m fed up now, where’s my team.  GRADE:  B-

RANDY SCOUSE GITS

Here it is Happy . Was thrown a bit by no pitcher going in the first 16 picks, can usually rely on 1 player being daft enough to take one (O). Nevertheless Pedroia was one of my 3 targets for round 1 (the other 2 had been taken).  Don’t feel great about Granderson at pick 20 but with Teixera, Kinsler and Beltre all gone felt i had no choice, Hanley was the only other viable alternative.  Was a bit thrown in R3 with all my targets apart from Youkilis taken. Took BJ who should be very solid 4 category player. Left Youk there assuming Reg wouldn’t take him and he didn’t.  Although only getting 2 of my targets so far was quite satisfied at this point.  Didn’t expect Big Papi to still be there by pick 5 and so took him even though i didn’t really want a DH.  Chris Young another solid 4 category player.  Would have taken Lind next but he went a few picks prior so took the best 1b available. Had planned to take 2 closers here but expected to have a 1B by this point so had to settle for 1 just when the strong run on closers was beginning.  Another closer and a SS batting 2nd in Colorado next and then threw plenty of darts at starting pitching, not really bothering with anymore bats after taking a DH  and with a strong outfield there didn’t seem much point.  Overall very happy with how it went and should be competitive. GRADE: B+

LEGION OF DOOM

Vernon Wells Laugh  GRADE: C

INGLORIOUS BASTERS

Imagine Reg will be looking to trade a C before long.  Rasmus could be a Steal, could be a decent team. GRADE:  B-

NO NO BASHERS

Got potential to go either way this team, just like some of us. GRADE: B-

THE ASS IS BACK

As is the norm Fenway was bemoaning his team and resigning from the league and never playing again by the time the draft reached the half way point (i don't recall a draft where this hasn'r happened), but as usual he has drafted a decent team.   Surprising to me took Kinsler over Pedroia in R1 but he does have the potential to be more productive. Hanley was a good pick in R2 and solid picks followed throughout. 2 very good closers and should be competitive. GRADE: B

WELSH DRAGON SOX

Had the first pick and took the obvious choice, so so the rest of the way, GRADE: C

SUPER ADVENTURE CLUB

2 catchers, no closers and they brainwashed chef. i don’t like this team. GRADE: D

A FISTFUL OF DONKEYS

Plenty of power, plenty of saves (if they get/keep the jobs), is sure to work the FAAB wire for pitching and steals.  When he’s not taunting stray cats with cans of tuna he’ll be plotting his path to glory (holes). GRADE: B

CLEARWATER THRASHERS

J’s love of Brian McCann shows no signs of fading. Like Zee he will work waivers to get into a position to challenge after drafting a solid base to do it from. The many flights he takes to Florida for sex will no doubt be spent deliberating how to do it.  GRADE: B-

ROB’S ZEENY CRUSHERS

Another decent but unspectacular team. Don’t see this line up crushing zeeny over the season. GRADE: C

The grades suggest that most of the team are pretty evenly matched and that’s how i see it. Apologies if my review is sh*t but i’m just not as creative as ja used to be, but i least i don’t................

Have a good season everyone, just not as good as me Cool

Good stuff Ron.

Ill just give a brief review on my team:

Really didnt want to take Halladay with my 2nd pick but at pick 22, I just felt I couldnt turn him down. At that point, my whole strategy went out the window and i never felt happy with my hitting. Napoli was a good pick at 3. Always nice to get 25-30 homers and a .280 ave at the C position.

Im depending a lot on "bounceback" players! Crawford and Werth could be steals or busts. Wainright was money before TJ surgery.

I love my pitching tho, even though I did get caught up in the closer rush! Its possible that I have 4 Closers starting for me opening day. (and yes Ron, I could have none by gameday 2 Happy )

However i look at my hitting in much the same way that Zeeny looks at a naked Lady; Disgust, confusion and nausea.

FWIW, Fenway had a superb draft imo. Lot of good teams out there but Fens team caught my eye. Not that im an expert or anything......

I love the fact that I'm graded 'e' it takes all the pressure off :-)
I don't really like my team much - too rushed not enough prep and a couple of ridiculous picks on there - It's not all won or lost on draft day though !

I was planning to take Bonifacio at pick 160, and thought that was reaching a couple of rounds. Saying that i think i'd make about 15 different picks if i was making my picks again

A very fair assessment ...although Cabrera's injury ...and particularly Soria's reduces the grade to an E-

The four people who have voted for my team as the winner of this league clearly have a very different view of its potential than I do. And zeeny for that matter, who thought I had a poor draft.

I genuinely cant see many weaknesses in your team Fen. Apart from Billingsly (whom i owned and hated last year), I just dont see him returning to any sort of form.

I think you are the team to beat ;)

And dont worry bout Z. Have you seen his SP's Silly

Does this mean you haven't voted for yourself?

Does anyone know why the Veterans League standings have not been updated for the Saturday games and why the real time standings are not working? The Auction League is completely up to date.
