We all know that QB's are the obvious and most likely picks to win (but they represent zero value), so anything in the field stand out?

For me:

Law Firm @ 50/1 - Looked really good last week.  If he keeps it up and gets 2 or more rushing TD's he could have a chance.

Vince Wilfork @ 250/1 - Was arguably MVP in the conference championship.  Longshot that he can replicate something similar, but worth a few quid.

Last ten winners (and reason if not a QB)

Tom Brady
Dexter Jackson (2 Interceptions)
Tom Brady
Deion Branch (11 Catches, 133 yds)
Hines Ward (5 Catches, 123 yds)
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
Santonio Holmes (9 catches, 131 yds)
Drew Brees
Aaron Rodgers

You must have smashed Wilfork, he's only 100/1 now!

For a QB Eli's price is actually quite big @ 15/8. His numbers in the Playoffs so far have been very good and comparable to Rogers last year in the big one (24/39 304yds 3TDs)

If a Giants' defensive player wins it then Jason Pierre Paul looks big @ 66/1 (Stan James). 4 sacks, 2 Interceptions, & a blocked FG would do it for me!

The individual odds on each of Giants' WRs is tempting (Cruz @ 16/1, Nicks @ 16/1 & Manningham @ 50/1) but you're taking a chance that you pick the wrong one. Dutching them is only 6.26/1 and you run the very real risk that Manning gets it instead.

As regards the Pats, Gronkowski is 7/1 with Bet365 but 12/1 with Ladbrokes, which is a big discrepancy for a 3rd favourite.

Hardly smashed it.  Stans only let me get £2.10 on! Laugh Jokers.

Eli might be value if you REALLY fancy NYG, but from a probability stand point, its not great.  Odds are saying that Eli wins it 80% of the time if NYG win. Id say its more like 65-75% chance.

JPP ok, would like a little bigger.  Tempted to cover the starting corners and maybe safeties.  If its a shoot-out a player could get a few picks, but then the winning QB would have to have a poorish outing as well.

Chad Ocho @ 100/1.... missed the baltimore game due to his father passing away, one big play/TD catch and its all the commentators will talk about, then he'll be 1/100
Report The Prophet Of Profit February 4, 2012 3:17 PM GMT
Ochocinco. Oh my god.....Should be 10,000/1

At least one of them will be playing Harry.
Report skyblues February 5, 2012 1:11 PM GMT
On the note off ocho, its just not happening i think he may only get 1 catch all game. For him to win it he would need over 100yds and 2tds just cannot see it happening 100-1 is too short.
Report skyblues February 5, 2012 1:12 PM GMT
Even then prob wouldnt be enough to take it from brady and thats even if n.eng won the game.
Report The real Moaner February 5, 2012 1:57 PM GMT
What happens to the market if a non listed player wins? E.G. If I lay Tom Brady and Julian Edelman wins MVP after catching a TD and returning an INT for a TD, would my lay win or be voided?
Report horse9 February 5, 2012 4:12 PM GMT
I can see this being offence dominated and turning into a shootout so you'd have to fancy the QBs.
Manning 2/1 or Cruz 14s look value but this market isn't my kind of bet
Report HARRY22 February 5, 2012 6:51 PM GMT
cant really see past the QBs..

I think it will be Manning........ham. 50/1 looks a great price.
Report themightymac February 5, 2012 10:52 PM GMT
I`m on Pierre-Paul @ 66/1.

REASONS WHY

1. If the Giants have any chance they have to get Brady under pressure and P-P is the man to do it.

2. The US media have been praising him all year and who decides the MVP Award winner? Yes, the media. Voting him the winner will endorse their earlier views about him and make them look great. "Told you he was a great player in the making, he`s just won the Super Bowl MVP Award".

They may as well name it the QB of the winning side.

Justin Tuck deserves as much consideration as Eli but he wasn't even listed!
