Lads, it is the Ravens' coaches fault!

If he had gone with him on that 52 yard attempt then he would of had more confidence.

It's like you are a top penalty taker and get told you will not be taking one in the shootout, then somebody gets injured and you have to go back in (you wont have any confidence)

I assume the Evans TD was the whole "football move" thing or no control

The criteria for a catch & TD are much more stringent than for a RB just having to break the plane

It only looks like he has posession on Slo-mo replay.

He never established posession or made a football move. As the comms rightly say, a different level of posession is required for a TD than in the outfield.

You mean on a QB sneak?
Report grayhawk January 22, 2012 11:22 PM GMT
After reviewing on SKY+ second foot was NOT down before it was popped out.
Report singero January 22, 2012 11:22 PM GMT
not sure what the exact rule is, but need to maintain possession maybe 3 steps or to the ground (in or out of bounds) afaik
Report themover January 22, 2012 11:22 PM GMT
Touchdown and conversion receptions in the end zone are made when a receiver catch a legal pass and have possession of the football and both feet in bounds within the end zone.
Report Mariner Paul January 22, 2012 11:23 PM GMT

Correct.

Report incaseof January 22, 2012 11:24 PM GMT
not really, it's all about if you got possession of it...you can have two feet down inbound and drop the ball when you're out of bounds and it's incomplete...have to maintain possession...never did
Report singero January 22, 2012 11:25 PM GMT
"A player is in possession when he is in firm grip and control of the ball inbounds. To gain possession of a loose ball that has been caught, intercepted or recovered, a player must have complete control of the ball and have both feet completely on the ground inbounds or any other part of his body, other than his hands, on the ground inbounds. If the player loses the ball while simultaneously touching both feet or any other part of his body to the ground or if there is any doubt that the acts were simultaneous, there is no possession. This rule applies to the field of play and in the end zone."

This Byzantine blather is proceeded by an even more confusing "Note 1," known as the "going-to-the-ground" clause. The G2G states, "A player who goes to the ground in the process of attempting to secure possession of a loose ball [with or without contact by a defender] must maintain control of the ball after he touches the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, there is no possession. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, it is a catch, interception or recovery."
Report jayc27 January 22, 2012 11:25 PM GMT

Some stats for you Raven backers or the long odds on Pats backers

The Pats have not beaten a single team with a winning record this year

The Ravens have playes 7 teams with a winning record and beaten 6 of them

Hmmmmm

Can't get my head around this game cos I think Flaco is simply terrible, the man is a clueless headless chicken with no touch but they can run the ball and the Pats D is average at best.

Depends how injured Ed Reed is imo

Giants are the bet of the night imo, 49's are not that good and played an easy schedule

The G men will be too good on D and are looking decent on the O too now

Another strong arm QB with no brain and no idea , he is meligned because he is no good when it really matters

McNab of old ..M Sanchez today are very similar in they are athletes with cannons but throw terribly in the clutch and make terrible decisions.

The Ravens would be abetter team with a QB who manages the game ( T Dilfer ) rather than a muppett who thinks he can throw a football thru a keyhole from 3 miles.

Hope for G Men by 1-6 now for the double
Report hutyee January 22, 2012 11:44 PM GMT
what were the odds at HT?

odds swing in 4Q?  lowest Baltimore got to? and lowest Patriots before that?
