I sympathise, Reg, but it's a tough one - I wouldn't want to be in a position where I had to tell people they couldn't take part at all, but I know it's frustrating when managers 'leave'. I sometimes think people don't remember how long the season is.
I may be a bit naive, but I've always tried to make fantasy as much fun for the part-timer as the more hardcore player, which is why I started a Gentlemen's league for the less driven (Current Champion: Orioles - there's a message there somewhere!) Maybe we can make the Vets' League selective? I've always left it up to managers (and the slightly higher entry fee) to take care of it, but wouldn't have an objection to making one league an application/invitation only league. I'll let people kick the idea about and see what everyone says. |

What a wonderful thread. I've had a bad day, but Reg has shown me the smallest shard of light on the horizon.
Perhaps if last year's owner of 'Minor Leaguers' requests a place in any league, he could be reminded that making two changes throughout the six month season and only using half of the pitching allowance is a strategy which rarely leads to overall glory. |
