I like the 49ers in  this game to keep it real close.
Time and time again teams from the West Coast get underestimated at home. Granted this game being an afternoon game will take somewhat from the cauldron like atmosphere but none the less I feel The Saints will struggle to move the ball up and down the field at will and that being the case this game will get scrappy and be kept close.
I could see the Saints finding a way to win but am loving the 3.5 point line

I also think it could be deep into the game before it opens up and the under 23 total points in the first half is very appealing.

No play off experience is nullified by home field advantage for me and the Saints will have to work hard to get out of San Francisco imo

looking forward to this. Backed 49ers at good price at start of campaign. Green on both now. Best offense on my book against best defence. One too watch and admire

offence won't pass through this defence, will have to run.

I agree. Took 49's at 6/4 and see them shutting down NO tonight. Saints outside of the dome are never quite the same. I'm banking on 49's using the run to keep the ball out of Brees' hands and winning a close, reasonably low scoring game.

If they have to run it all day, then one word: Sproles. Saints WIN.Love

the whole point of me highlighting the need for them to run was to rubbish their chance.  sproules will not run through this top top defence.

gore however with tear through the saints.

lets not forget that the saints lost to the bucs and the rams on the road this season.  49ers are a whole different ball game.

also lost to the packers but no disgrace there

Nobody can stop this saints for 60 minutes

They have too many threats

Only way for 49ers to win this game is to score TDs in the redzone. Something they have struggled with all season

That was then and this is now re the away losses. However the kicker here is the underestimated, rested, home side on the West Coast (remember the Seahawks in 2005 who tore through the NFC to the superbowl)

No doubt Brees will throw for 300+yds if needed.
Key for 49ers is to stop the run, pressure on Brees with 2xSmith and on D when you has a chance to make a play, do it...turnover match a must win for SF!
Im afraid 49ers will play with to many dbs in and give up +5yds average a run.

If 49ers can stay close first half they have a great chance here but they cant fall two scores behind and turn it around.

brees not in a dome isn't that good. even though the sf d figures are flattered by their easy schedule still have to fancy them at home.

weather conditions apparently not much wind, so perhaps brees perf won't be too affected.
